Its hardly colourful and it certainly is not cheerful but I'm glad that a second series has been commissioned. I had some reservations that they would struggle to replicate with success the terrific first series but they have. Hooked after the first couple of episodes this beats any other crime drama on TV. It kicks the appalling Sherlock into touch. Excellent characterization and script. Love it!

I've got it on the sky planner but not had the chance to watch it yet, loved the first series.

Just need to get rid of the wife and kids for the weekend so I can catch up.

The just recorded while I watched something else
Going to run now
Like the first series of the Killing there's something In the geography that brings virtually perpetual greyness/darkness that helps build the atmosphere
Absolutely love these Nordic thrillers

I think Grendal has got something right at last.

The bridge is a top programme. I discovered it at Christmas time. I work in Sweden and watched series 1 episode 9 on kindle walking through streets of Stockholm on way to office, so exciting.

Not seen The Bridge, so Grendel may well be right on thay one, but I cannot agree with Sherlock being appalling. I love the programme and think this new series has been absolutely hilarious.

Grendel has it wrong again! Sherlock appalling? C'mon! It's a very cleverly written piece of drama and very well acted. I've just "Googled" The Bridge. Just another Police drama but written and set in Scandinavia. Shan't be watching it any time soon.

Thing is with this series of Sherlock, is the fact they have gone for comedy. It is much more comedic and comic bookish compared to the more serious first couple of series.

This new series is laugh out loud funny.

Just going on from this, me and 'er indoors, watched "12 Years a Slave" last night. Both wished we hadn't bothered. It was a bit wishy-washy, with no concept of time (where were the 12 years? He never aged a day, yet his kids at the end have all grown up!). I've seen better episodes of "Roots" - a far superior book and TV series. If this boring film gets an Oscar, there's no justice in the movie world!

I remember getting Dirty Harry out on DVD thinking it was going to be a porn film. Same too with the Disney film, The Black Hole.
