Basically you are dropped into one of three maps with whoever has logged in, generally between 2-6k riders. You can either free ride round the map, do training or graded events/races. Now and again real riders appear (greipel was on there last night!). I use my iPad via Bluetooth but generally you would need a smart trainer to have a decent experience. I think you can get away with a dumb trainer and power/cadence meters but it obviously won’t pick up the gradients of the hills. You can do 20km for free so might be worth a try to see if you can connect
Know what you're getting at.....
.....but then you watch them racing......awesome.
I hate what football has become......but then we see city.....awesome
had the same problem due to piss poor weather this year. never had a year like it for a long time. Zwift has helped get me into shape over this period!!I really need to get out. Only been out twice since Christmas.

Would love to do the roubaix sportive one dayYep.....watched the ladies race this morning.....unbelievable finish.
Those cobbles certainly were hideous......
I did start a TDF thread......but it kinda got lost what with the WC and all that jazz.....
TDF 2018
EDIT: NICK.....can you stick the TDF thread into the main cycling thread or summat....ta.
Froome is with him all the way waiting for him to blow upI really want G to win, but i think he'll drop off in the last week.

Froome will win it but they could easily get G up there. The depth of that Team Sky train is too much for the field. They need to attack more but only seem to be teams like AG2 and Movistar that have a go
To be honest I think it takes a bit away from the sport. It’s inevitable that they will win unless they crash out. Just cannot compare on resources hence the push for the salary capsSky's control of the peloton is unbelievable to watch sometimes. I haven't watched todays stage but know the result, but watching yesterday to see Sky with so many riders at the front of the peloton dictating the pace was a mark of how good their team is, which I know is down to resources but they do have some fantastic riders.
Would love G to win it, I hope he can push on and hold on, would be a worthy winner.
They were under pressure today in my opinion, Mkwi could hardly give anything once they got to D’Huez if it hadn’t been for their little Columbian I think they may have struggled to claim the same result today.Sky's control of the peloton is unbelievable to watch sometimes. Age thing I’m aftraid, struggle after they hit 32ish. Didn’t have the legs and probably the last time we see Cav in the tourI miss Cavendish winning the sprints. he seems to be in a much weaker team this time around.
I don't think he's ever going to break the stage-wins record.
Also not helped with his early season crashes that injured him. He's missed a lot of cycling this year.Age thing I’m aftraid, struggle after they hit 32ish. Didn’t have the legs and probably the last time we see Cav in the tour
We are looking into getting bikes, nothing fancy like racing bikes where we go 60 miles but just to do a few of the 2-3 mile trips we do.
Any advice on a mens / womens cheap enough bike?
Also looking at one of those bars that connect to a child's bike to turn it into a tandem, don't fancy letting my daughter onto the road just yet by herself so need to build up her road sense.
We have the kids bike already but she isn't that confident on it, mainly because we dont have chance to take her to practise and ride it properly as if we go for a walk she is usually stop / start waiting for us
It will mainly be for the road just to get from A to B, don't really want to spend shed loads as it will be more for a bit of fitness rather than a cycling hobby.
Just need to get a shed to keep them in first as well!
I got my daughter the Vicky P bike and she loves it. It really it a pretty looking thing!Theres so much choice these days Nick......totally depends on if you plan on bumping it up kerbs & riding off-road on tracks etc. & also budget.
If your Mrs. wants a classic looking womans bike, then Id take a look at the Vicky Pendleton range at Halfords.....my mates wife has got one & he reckons its lightweight & a good spec for about £200.
If you want a blokes bike for every occasion, then I'd probably go for a "gravel" or "adventure" bike.....basically a cross-breed of road bike & MTB......Genesis make some lovely ones but they are expensive.......i'm constantly on ebay waiting for a bargain Genesis Croix de fer to pop up in my area.....
Kids bikes is easy. Get a Frog. no question. Both my lads have been riding since they were 3 & have had several frogs....great quality kids bikes...they retain their value really well & there is a good 2nd hand market for them.
Dead right. Loads of bargains on eBay. People buy decent bikes. Find it’s hard work and sell em cheap on eBay.Ebay all the way then mate......loads of bike bargains to be had......its almost a hobby in itself.

They have a decent enough name. I’d go for one off eBay though. No point in paying full price if you don’t get on with itI was interested in your post to Nick and that you would recommend a crossbreed/hybrid type bike. I have looked at them and been sorely tempted but wasn't sure whether to go for it or not?
I have looked at the Boardman ones, but wasn't sure if they came recommended? (I am looking the more starter end of his crossbreed range)
