Further to my earlier thread a couple of weeks ago.
Just had a look at "Freddies Goals" video and what did we see - Freddie scoring goals for fun (albeit in lower leagues)
What was remarkable was his positioning sense around goal scoring from all angles, two footed and head, long and short. He seemed to have inbuilt radar to attack the opposing goal with venom but contrast that with his CCFC experience.
League Goals Analysis:
GRAYS: 41 games 26 goals - full 46 game projection 29 goals per season
SOUTHEND: 109 55 46 23
WOLVES: 10 3 46 14
CCFC: 72 15 46 10
Total: 232 99 46 19+
Is his record and application all that bad?
I believe his true potential was coached out of him by CC and AB by (a) playing him too deep (b) playing him out of position (c) not utilising his two footed shooting abillity.
There is no doubt that he has the ability, look at his ball control and power of shooting -he just needs the opportunity, a decent strike partner and an extended run in the team .
If he would be allowed a full frontal strikers roll working in and around the box I still feel Freddie has something to offer by scoring 12-15 goals per season and with a few assists as a bonus.
Or do you think our Freddie has had enough chances and it is now time to move on in the interests of both parties??
