Further to my earlier thread a couple of weeks ago.
Just had a look at "Freddies Goals" video and what did we see - Freddie scoring goals for fun (albeit in lower leagues)
What was remarkable was his positioning sense around goal scoring from all angles, two footed and head, long and short. He seemed to have inbuilt radar to attack the opposing goal with venom but contrast that with his CCFC experience.
League Goals Analysis:
GRAYS: 41 games 26 goals - full 46 game projection 29 goals per season
SOUTHEND: 109 55 46 23
WOLVES: 10 3 46 14
CCFC: 72 15 46 10
Total: 232 99 46 19+
Is his record and application all that bad?
I believe his true potential was coached out of him by CC and AB by (a) playing him too deep (b) playing him out of position (c) not utilising his two footed shooting abillity.
There is no doubt that he has the ability, look at his ball control and power of shooting -he just needs the opportunity, a decent strike partner and an extended run in the team .
If he would be allowed a full frontal strikers roll working in and around the box I still feel Freddie has something to offer by scoring 12-15 goals per season and with a few assists as a bonus.
Or do you think our Freddie has had enough chances and it is now time to move on in the interests of both parties??
Goals were 5+ years ago, not at this level (where he has never produced under 4 different managers) doesn't work hard enough, not very bright, no real pace, awful attitude. What makes you think he can suddenly find form and save his career?
He's too expensive so get rid as soon as someone is foolish enough to take him.
I too disagree. He has had far too many chances. My views on him are pretty much documented on here. I think he is talented but Coventry isn't the rite place for him. If I was Eastwood I would have been wanting a new start somewhere else ages ago. Best for both parties I feel.
Its a good record no doubt, but 4 managers - including Thorn - keep him on the bench. Why? I would say part laziness, part poor vision (makes stupid passes or tries and fails to take people on) and in part lack of chances converted... He gets lots of chances and fluffs any non-guilt edge ones. He can be released as far as I'm concerned.
Personally think he's never been given a really decent run upfront. He was flying the start of last season before injury, then couldn't get back in when Marlon started playing. He's worth sticking with in my opinion.

Not rated by his last 5 managers (inc Wolves)........ what makes them all wrong?
He has some talent but clearly not in the top two divisions. Attitude is poor and we would be better off spending his wages on someone who wants to play for the team and doesnt sulk because he is asked to play another position.
Have said before the arguement about position is a misnomer...... look at the opportunities to score that he has had (shots at goal) you will find he has had plenty and the return is poor. Plenty of decent players also play wide and score more goals
To keep the guy in case King doesnt is the easy decision but not the right one. Whether we keep or let go to find another we are basically taking the same chance.... a leap into the unknown. Hasnt proven his worth in the last 4 years (inc Wolves) time for him to move on I think.... best for every one

Completely agree. His attitude stinks, when he comes on even as a sub he just strolls around the pitch and doesn't make any effort. At the moment we really can't afford players who aren't trying
