We’ll make the play offs now. And we won’t just scrape in either.

We have form, momentum and three of our best players returning. Plus a decent run (on paper!).

Not massively into the rivalry but just because they are, I’d love Sunderland to drop out completely.

And for the Wilder, Hamer, COH situation I’d love to beat Shef U to seal promotion.

Next 3 games are absolutely crucial

7 points or more, we make the play offs.

Anything less and we don't.

We have a tough couple of games after these three. We need to build up the points now

Anything less than 5 points would dent our hopes. They’ll required run rate is hovering around 1.5 PPG at the minute. 18-21 points out of 36 potentially gives us a big margin of error.

How we lost at WBA god only knows we were quite good on the day and should have come away with a draw at least

There goalkeeper played a blinder that night, it's the same goalkeeper that's playing for Ipswich in the Premier League, the same goalkeeper that made his debut against us in the cup game against Ipswich.

In short, I wouldn't change last year, but this year we are the team to beat going into the final third of the season!

That day at Wembley is up there with my top 2 games. Unbelievable and most exhilarating

Sunderland to drop off completely? They’d have to be as bad as we were the 12 games at the end of last season.

Having said that, City will do it if we continue our form over the last 8 games and they do the same with theirs.

Their run in:

ri 28 Feb A Sheffield Wednesday Championship 8pm
Sat 8 Mar H Cardiff City Championship 3pm
Tue 11 Mar H Preston North End Championship 7.45pm
Sat 15 Mar A Coventry City Championship 3pm
Sat 29 Mar H Millwall Championship 3pm
Sat 5 Apr A West Bromwich Albion Championship 3pm
Tue 8 Apr A Norwich City Championship 7.45pm
Sat 12 Apr H Swansea City Championship 3pm
Fri 18 Apr A Bristol City Championship 3pm
Mon 21 Apr H Blackburn Rovers Championship 3pm
Sat 26 Apr A Oxford United Championship 3pm
Sat 3 May H Queens Park Rangers Championship 3pm

It’s getting to that stage of the season where the results start getting silly, teams at the bottom start fighting, teams st the top
get complacent, no doubt we’ll be in the play offs then out again, wouldnt Surprise me if we need to get something against mboro on the last day again, whatever happens Lampards done brilliant

I’d prefer for them to beat or at least draw with the 4/5 rivals they still have left to play. I can’t see them dropping out of the play offs.

Yes and he was definitely shaky that match but we didn't go for him.

Agreed! Super computers will always have a flawed methodology because it relies on the inputs. If it’s predicting us to finish on 68 points, why does it expect us to slow down our run rate to 1.5 PPG for the remainder of the season?

Probably because our PPG for the season is 1.47 which includes the pre-Lampard results. Lampard’s PPG is 1.94 and using that formula for the remaining 12 games would give us 23 points and a final tally of 73 points.

Either way, the outlook looks really positive for us!
I love all this… the super computer has us in 6th but two teams in 5th… it has us on equal points with 2 teams but doesn’t care about GD… and it works it all out by extrapolating average PPG!

some people at work say “ooh, give that to Gibbo, he’s a bit of a whiz with excel”… but I never thought that 30 minutes of my time with a 486 with the turbo button pressed and a bottle Thunderbird Red Label to myself would be better than a super computer.

On Monday I am asking for a raise!
