Tricky start.

I see all the self indulgent "Look at the teams we're playing" stuff has started. We've played a lot of them teams in recent years anyway.
We were relegated from the top flight 16 years ago and the second tier 5 years ago. Anybody would think we were playing Man Utd and Liverpool regularly within the last few years. It's a generation ago.
Carlisle away on the 30th December is a right bastard.
Especially given 2 days later we at home on 1st Jan!
Cleethorpes in August going to be a piss up and a half!!
PUSB SOTV IMCH NOAM (Not One Acronym More)
Is it?
It's a bit ambitious pencilling us in for the cup final on May 19th mate.Tricky start.

Seeing this really does make you realise how far we've fallen. I look at those teams and think that the only ones who should give us any trouble are Swindon.
I look and honestly think we could have an invincible, unbeaton league season
.........then I look at our squad and reality hits home.
Do you not think so?

Great to see CC4L's optimism - including the date of the FA Cup final in his post!Is it?
At least half of them we have played in the time we were in League One, that didn't go well did it????
Not really. They all look the same to me(said with redneck accent)
Im not scared of league 2. If robins gets his targets in i thibk we will be top 7. Big IF i guess knowing ccfc but cant say i look ata carlisle or notts county and worry
Blissful ignorance perhaps

Why would we have an invincible season?
The reality is we are in League 2, even as a League 1 club we wouldn't have an invincible season against League 2 teams.
People need to get past thinking we are in the Premier League or have a god given right to be there, it's no wonder they get so angry / annoyed every 5 minutes.

Sorry, what I'm saying is it really does make you realise how far we've fallen. It's easy to think of the team that we had when growing up and we should easily beat all of these. Here's another one. Change the record zzzzzz

But we're not that team anymore, we are just an average League 2 team down, division 4 and it's easy to forget that.
It's not a self indulgent post, it's an acknowledgement of our current level and apologise if it reads as anything other than that.
Mate I still think it's the 90's and I'm 10 years old.It isn't easy to forget it though, it's been like it for years sadly.
Relatively easy start to the season to be honest. County at home who have been struggling in league two since they got relegated back down there. Grimsby who struggled after Hurst left for Shrewsbury and Newport and Yeovil who were in the relegation scrap last year.
Have played all of these since relegation from the Prem in league games I think.
Might have missed a couple.
Crewe
Carlisle
Colchester
Chesterfield
Port Vale
Notts County
Grimsby
Luton
Stevenage
Yeovil
Crawley
Swindon
Don't forget we have played Exeter, Morecambe, Cambridge in cup games during that time too.
Phew thats alright then.I see all the self indulgent "Look at the teams we're playing" stuff has started. We've played a lot of them teams in recent years anyway.

You're confident of getting away ticketsOverall a good fixture list.
Grimsby in August means I won't be going in with the home supporters this time. Bloody freezing there in winter.
Carlisle end of December. Could see in the new year in Glasgow and go to the game on the way.
Morecambe last away game of the season. I'll do the same as last season. Drive there and drop myself off at the ground. Hand keys over to wife. Large bar at the ground that welcomes away supporters. Beer a decent price and isn't bad either. Good place to celebrate our promotion :shifty:
