you ever been to SXSW?Iv'e been going to live gigs since I was a little kid as members of my family and family friends were involved in the music scene / in bands, in Coventry in the late 70's early eighties. I have been to hundreds of bands and I still do, I will be at Glastonbury again this year having only missed a couple since the mid 90's.
I just have a love of music in general and i don't favour any genre, if I like it I, like it. I have been lucky enough to see most of my musical hero's and I don't think you can beat seeing bands play live, it's what music is all about.
No, but it is on my bucket list, have you?you ever been to SXSW?
Brilliant, I bet you will have the time of your life. What I like about SXSW is that it is so much more than just a music festival, the have live Q&A sessions with the artists and music workshops etc....Going next year which is why I asked, was after some info.

I guy I really like called Jack Garratt done it last year and he said the whole thing was fantastic.
you still have to have a badge for the official stuff, but there's loads of free stuff, there have been a lot of good bands play the free events.I have never really looked into it but I was under the impression you just turned up to whatever venue on whatever day and queued up (if you are not in the industry) and you basically got any places that were left.
I have a 13 year old daughter he quite likes these, I don't mind them myself, if I'm being honest.Taking one for the team tonight. just arrived at 21 pilots gig in Alexandria palace.

I do really like some of their tracks, but others I am a bit meh about.
What was the age range of the audience? Nearly all young teens and parents?
Any older people there, 20's and 30's?
my Mrs had her phone pinched at a babyshambles gig in leamington.Went to see Slaves Saturday night.
Really enjoyed it, loved the energy from the safe distance of the bar!
Police were handing out flyers on the way in warning about pickpocket gangs operating at their gigs, scum.

Spoke to the security and she was one of at least 6 that night.
Flash forward to libertines at nec earlier this year and a dude got arrested wearing taped up jogging bottoms and he had 130 phones in his bottoms!!!!

Wow sounds amazing, how have I not heard of this before?Ha had the same at the specials Ricoh gig
Was an old reck of a phone though and they lobbed it ha!!
Got it back the next day someone else had picked it up and rung my daughter from it.
The culprit I think was a tidy little blond eastern European girl who latched on to me for five minutes and had a dance.
That did bemuse me a little at the time :-o
Anyway got my tickets ordered last night for Richard Ashcrofts Liverpool Echo gig in December, running out and have known for three months.

Hoping to Make chilli peppers in Manchester weds, but having a tattoo done that day and it might not get finished In time to go
what an absolute greedy bastard! If he'd stopped at a sensible amount he might have got away with it.
I dunno, i've seen pixies twice with the new Girl and I think she's just as great, there's not a lot of differenceDid Pixies Thursday evening at O2 Academy in Birmingham.
Pretty good tight gig, first one I've been too in many years.
I wish Kim Deal was still on vocals, not quite the same without her.

Biffy was the 4th time i've seen them, I often see a band up to 3 times but there's a few live bands I will see every tour, these are one of those bands, never been disappointed.Seen Biffy a couple of times, and really rate them.
Chemical brothers last night was superb
Not for everyone of course, but for the people that were there, I don't think i've seen such a large percentage of gig audience having such a great time.
Deaf as a post this morning tho, electronic feedback hits your core when it's ramped up to these levels, possibly the second loudest i've ever been too.
Happy Mondays nec 1991 was loudest ( they were trying to get the record for loudest gigs around that time, ,and I think they got the record at the time )
