- Liverpool unluckiest Premier League team & Manchester United luckiest, says study

Liverpool the unluckiest, Man U, the luckiest and Huddersfield should have been relegated.

Wonder how our season last year would have panned out in L2 taking incorrect decisions into account.

Also wonder about Notts County's.
I used to say how unlucky we were at football, or I don't get any luck in my life etc. But after reading/hearing that luck doesn't come into it at all, it doesn't exist only in our minds, I just accept now we create things by our own actions, and good/bad stuff happen, but it ain't nothing to do with luck. But old habits die hard as I said we were unlucky on Saturday !

Of course luck comes into it in life. Did you work hard to be born in a wealthy country to attentive parents? Did you work hard not to be disabled or contract a debhilitating disease? Of course not.

Same in football, what were the injuries to Jones and Andreu last season if not bad luck? What about the poor refereeing decisions against Notts County that kept us ahead?

You can shift the graph a bit in each direction by your actions but youre still playing within the boundaries set by things outside your control.

I can't believe people have studied luck. Talk about having too much time on your hands.

This Notts County ‘we were lucky’ business bugs me a little bit. If we’d won the second game by the odd goal then I could understand it. But it was 4-1.... like England Germany in World Cup - if lampard’s goal was allowed (correctly) it would have been 2-2, different game blah blah blah - Germany were miles better and pulled us apart.... there was still only one goal in it at the time.
First game - was nice to get a dodgy pen given for us rather than against. That’s just karma.
same applies to the Notts county games in my view. Over the 4 games we played them in the season - we won 9-4 on aggregate. So the better team won without question luck or not.

In an alternative reality, Kevin Nolan of League One's Notts County is berating his marquee loan signing Dujon Sterling of making overlapping runs instead of sticking back and hoofing it!

I think the decisions in the play off games were a little bit of pay back for Nottts County as in the league game at Meadow Lane Burge is held on the line by a County player for their first goal while Ameobi should have been sent off for thumping McDonald. I have wondered, but couldn’t be bothered to look, if that result changed the play off positions. It would be twice as sweet if the league game had ended 1-1 and Notts and ourselves had swapped positions and opponents thus meaning that their own dodgy tactics had ensured they played us instead of Exeter or Lincoln who they may well have beaten.
