With Raheem Sterling moving to Man City for £49 million pounds,it got me thinking which ex Cov City player if he was playing today would command a really big fee ? The likes of Robbie Keane,Dion Dublin,and Stuart Pearce,at their best for us would cost another team big bucks no doubt. Going back a bit I reckon Tommy Hutchison would be high as the transfer market is barmy these days to what it used to be. Any suggestions ?

I agree with Rees and Humphries but Pointer when he played here wasn't the player he was at Burnley,even though he was still good.

Phil Babb would have cost a tidy packet in today's market. Assuming Liverpool bought him again. Does anyone else think that Liverpool have a history of overspending on average to OK players? They almost always seem to over pay for me. With the exception of GM.

Babb was the first player I remember thinking that was way too good for us. Probably the most accomplished City defender I've seen.

Oh....and if Andy Carroll went for £30ma few years ago, how much would Mark Hateley have been worth in todays silly money.....

I remember when we brought Bill Glazier from Palace and at that time it was a record for a keeper at £35,000. In money terms I'd love to know how much would that be today ? I bet it would be massive.

not sure of the year - but £35k in 1970 would be £515k today

Bill Glazier would be worth a lot more than that in today's football market. Just shows how football has lost its way. 500k wouldn't even buy you a league one keeper

I agree as Glazier was a top keeper.He was the goalie for Englands under 23 team when he broke his leg and was out for a year.When he came back he was too old for them and was unlucky not to be a full international.He would be sold these days for a huge fee I'm certain of that,and in the millions not thousands.
