The next few years (2 Viewers)

How does everyone see the next few years panning out? I think the majority of us are resigned to relegation now, but its how the club responds to that is the important thing.

Just looking at the history books, the last time we dropped out of this division was in 1952, and it took us till 1964 to get back here, lets hope it doesn't take that long again!

Three ways it could go in my opinion

1. Get promoted from League One within the next 3 years, then take the Championship by storm (Norwich, Leicester, Southampton, Leeds etc.)

2. Become a yoyo team between Championship and League One (Peterborough, Scunthorpe are the best examples I would say)

3. Stay in League One, continuing the downward spiral (Colchester, Plymouth, Southend)

Just some scenarios based on relegations over the past 5/6 seasons that I think will happen to us

I'm not resigned to relegation just yet, but whatever happens there, I think the present financial situation is untenable and at some-point over the next 12mths somethings got to give. Whether that will be for the good or detriment of the football club I couldn't hazard a guess.

slow decline towards league two, until somebody is willing to spend 100 million on us then we haven't a chance of achieving anything.

....... and just a horrible reminder - City have never finished in the top 6 of any league since the 1969/1970 season!

Fans would be furious, and rightly so, if Thorn came out and said "I know it's only November, but let's face it, we're down". Imagine the reaction on here. Why should the fans we so convinced?

We ain't down until we're down. Where's the fight gone?

1)Get bought at Xmas
2)Buy lots of lovely prsessies (i.e. good players)
either-
3)Just scrape clear of the relegation battle and go on to make the play-offs next season
or-
4)It's to late to claw back the deficit, we go down, but come straight back up next season, winning the Broken Eighties Van Windshield Tinpot Trophy at Wembley in front of 40,000 "die hard" Sky Blues along the way.
and then-
5)Win the Championship by 2015.

Think administration would be the only way we could have a chance of any success at all in the next few years. Carry on the way we are and we will be like Plymouth in a couple of seasons.

Have discounted investment cos i just can't see that happening. Can only see a takeover following admin myself. Hope I'm proved wrong.

When i take my sky blue glasses off,I only see relegation unless SHITSU GO
but please don't boo the young players, they are our future.

More than likely the interested parties will wait till shitsu put us into admin before they come forward again.
Should that happen I hope it hurts shitsu where it hurts, in the pocket and a lack of confidence in their wider investment business's

Our 1st game in this league when we came down was against Stockport, and we beat them 2-0



They drew with Hayes and Yeading yesterday in the Blue Sq Prem. Dietmar Hamman is their manager !!

We may get closer to this than anyone realises.

Not resigned to relegation but it doesn't look good does it. I am just hoping come Xmas we ain't too far adrift of Barnsley, Peterborough, Donny and Watford these are who i expect to be in and around the bottom slots come March/April and there is always someone mid-table who drops.

I can't see how survival can be achieved but if it doesn't then I can see a slow decline. Worst scenario would be administration at the end of the season and a defecit to start next. The better players will leave and crowds will fall.
I would say we could very easily become a mid-table Division 1 team. Truth is for a team like Coventry to have achieved 35 years out of 46 in the top flight is a major achievement, I cannot see a way back for a long, long time unless serious backers turn up.

I have to admit I fear the worst, and see City back where they were when I first went up.

The way back isn't so straighforward nowadays.

We are not down yet. There is a long way to go yet. Millwall were favourites to go down a couple of weeks ago. 3 wins on the bounce pulled them clear. How did they manage to go from losing all the time to winning by a few goals each game?
