You gotta love how fans on here who bought season tickets months ago to watch a pile of shit all year whilst listening to our owners snivelling lies now want everyone else to rally to the cause clutching our £22's a game plus expenses ! I'd like to think it would make a positive difference but it wouldn't , I don't trust the cretins with my cash one iota !
Spent my sporting money this weekend watching the Bees last night, the kids enjoyed it, everyone's a winner.
Thousands of fans will only return when we can be sure that we are not just a hedge funds dumping ground for debt and that we get 'real' investment in the playing squad !

I think the majority felt we needed to own ACL.
However we were going about it the wrong way and it was only going to end in tears.
That the Sixfields move would do more damage than good.
That the lower the attendance at Sixfields the quicker we would return to the Ricoh.
Now I think the majority want the tough questions to be asked and answered at these SCG meetings.
I also think the majority do think it is time for SISU to move on and that if you think this that does not mean you can't attend meetings with the club. In order to express the fans concerns and opinions.

While we're talking about STH's. I wonder how many of those that bought new ST's when we came back to the Ricoh, actually go to games now? From what i've read on the forum there's a hell of a lot cba anymore. That would tell everybody what the situation is right now wouldn't it?

Me and my dad don't go. Panic bought season tickets, been to 3 games. Nothing to do with the politics of it though, it's just been shite and I've got better things to do.

Fair play to you mate. there are a few different reasons people don't go, wether they're STH's or POG. A lot of the reasons though boil down to the same thing eventually. Shite football comes down(I can hear you all groaning from here) lack of investment. Poor quality footballers present poor quality football. So as you can see, it all comes down to politics in the end

Were the majority right about thorn and pressley? The facts are wrong then aren't they as the majority were wrong then. What about the majority welcoming sisu in? Were they right or were people like nw who were saying to be wary?

Very true, Kid.

I know from experience which people have season tickets around me (same seats every game and often see them putting their books in their pockets and bags etc. and same faces and seats from the season before last).

I can tell you right now that many of them have stopped going completely and many you just see for the odd game here and there. A lot of fans have indeed had enough.

But that's not because we are not Sky Blues anymore, it's because there just appears to be no future with owners who continually lie to their customers and treat people like idiots. As I've said before despite the governments claim that the countries economy is humming along, many people have found that disposable income has dropped to very low levels and want some value, excitement and integrity for their cash at the weekend.

I got the impression most people wanted SP sacked.

I didn't think it was right to sack AT after 3 matches I don't think there was a majority who felt the same.

SISU coming in. I don't think anyone had a clue. We were just told our club had been saved.

I'd disagree, I think most us thought AT should have gone in the summer and were happy with his sacking, you seem to be the only poster on here to argue against it.

Oh I agree about the scg, it should have a wide range of views from different types of people (corporate, disabled, jsb etc) to get a huge range of different views.

Most people wanted sp sacked months after it being pointed out he didn't have a clue, people also pointed out early on thorn was awful.

My point was only that sometimes the majority can be wrong. The club shouldn't only listen to one opinion, I always think the best feedback is the bad feedback. Likewise it shouldn't just be the one sisu out opinion.

I totally agree a range of people.

However when you get the likes of Mr Ward attacking Jan for his opinion and questioning whether he should be there at all because he has that opinion. When you consider it is an opinion held by many many fans. That really can't be right.

You do get a feeling that whilst such conversations are happening certain people are avoiding the real tough questions.

I agree if you are going to sack someone after 3 matches you should have done it in the summer. It is comical, don't make a big speech about backing the manager let him sign 9 players. Then sack him after three draws.
I agree with you if that was in your mindset you get rid in the summer.

Yes and I agree that's wrong too as people will have opinions, as I said earlier on is when they are on a personal level like that. It should all be kept professional and balanced, if somebody thinks Fisher is a walker that is their right. Although if they shout it from the rooftops they shouldn't expect him to bother with them.

The scg should be about how things can benefit the club and the club only, not pathetic egos and press releases or which group has the most members, how many back pats this week.

COVENTRY City’s chief executive Tim Fisher meets owners Sisu this week to ask for the cash to fund an immediate return to the Championship.

He says that manager Andy Thorn is “front and centre” in the restructuring proposals he will present to the owners and that he is determined to do everything possible to hold on to star asset Richard Keogh – who has just one season left on his contract – and the Academy graduates who have broken into the first team this season.

But he warns that there is no Plan B if Sisu boss Joy Seppala pulls the plug because he has still received no takeover offer from Gary Hoffman or any other interested party.

Speaking barely an hour after Coventry’s relegation had been confirmed on Saturday, the man who was thrust into the hot seat in December stressed: “It would be really easy to have the knee-jerk reaction – fire the manager, get rid of a load of players – but that’s not what this is about.


"The one thing we have lacked over a number of years is a little bit of stability.

“We’re going to review what has happened this season when there have been a number of mistakes on and off the pitch and we all know what they are. We’re going to learn from those and, following the post-mortem, we’re going to restructure.

“Sisu have asked me for a plan – ‘if we go down into League One, how do we get back?’

“We are working on that plan and we will crack on with re-assessing where we are and then rebuilding.

“It’s a negotiation between the board and the owner; we will ask for a budget, and it will be a bounce-back budget.

We want to have a robust bid to get out of League One; there’s no ‘let’s go down and consolidate for a couple of years and see where we get to’ – we are going to make a bid to get out.”

The Sky Blues need Sisu to confirm that they will bankroll the club for the next 12 months before their outstanding accounts can be signed off and their transfer embargo lifted.

“They have to look at the plan, look at the numbers,” said Fisher. “They may say that it isn’t acceptable, but I think they like the idea of bouncing back.

“Sisu haven’t signed off that budget because in effect they were waiting to see what would happen, was it Championship of League One. Talking to Joy Seppala, she’s clear in her mind – ‘if we’re going to go down, we’ve got to come back up, right?’

The Sky Blues have worked their way through ten managers since they slipped out of the top flight 11 years ago but Fisher stressed: “This is where we need to draw a line in the sand and say enough – enough of firing managers. We need to get out of that habit and, to draw a football analogy, put our foot on the ball, give Andy a chance to reorganise the resources.

“Andy is front and centre stage at the moment and we are going to work with him to make sure that he’s got all the resources lined up.

“We’re sitting down with him to decide which players he wants to keep. We need a spine, we need the key players and, as reflected in all the awards he has won, Richard has been the heartbeat of that team.

“He’s a good player and there will be intense pressure from outside to extract him, without a doubt, but this week he gave us a provisional commitment that he wants to stay and we’ll do our best to keep him.

“There is always a figure X but it would have to be a big figure; I think the value of Richard staying would far outweigh a little bit of cash with money on appearances and so on and so forth.

“Certain things we’d like to do but may be out of our hands. Some players who are out of contract, I suspect, may leave; we respect that and we’ll have to bring in some additional resources.

“It is a highlight of the year for me that those Academy boys have grown into men and it would be a shame if we were to get rid of them now.

“We’d like Ollie Norwood to stay and I think there is a chance he will.

"I suspect a Championship club will come in for Alex Nimely on loan but he has indicated that he would be delighted to stay.”

The supporters’ disenchantment has deepened after Thorn was denied any opportunity to replace stars like Marlon King and Aron Gunnarsson while Ben Turner and Lukas Jutkiewicz were sold to cut the debts.

“There is a general acceptance that mistakes were made,” said Fisher, “and one of those mistakes was letting players in key positions leave and not replacing them with talent. That is recognised by the owner.

“I’ll do my best to ensure that Sisu remain motivated to keep going; that’s one of my principal roles here – showing them the positivity.

"When we were eight points adrift and pulled it back, that was motivational for them; unfortunately we had that recent slump in form that has killed us.

“It’s difficult for Sisu to reconcile investing £40m and the antipathy that we’ve all seen.

"The knee-jerk reaction is ‘Sisu out’ but I’ve had a number of conversations with supporters and the one warning I would give is ‘be very careful of what you wish for.’

“There is a vacuum behind Sisu. There isn’t a queue of people saying ‘now it’s my turn to take on the club,’ and we haven’t had a bid from Mr Hoffman. There are no negotiations or discussions going on.

“Gary has the football club at the very centre of his heart and if he could find investment, he would.

“He’s frustrated because he hasn’t been able to deliver that. But it’s not for the want of trying – it doesn’t make him a bad man.

“What happens on the pitch is the key to all of this; if you get that right what happens off the pitch becomes secondary, even tertiary. That is why we’ve got to get that bit right.

“And if Sisu do step out I can categorically state that as of today there is no-one coming in – no-one.”

Our wage bill is reportedly in the top 8 in the league (we're 17th and 10 points behind 8th) and We also have a larger wage bill than Swindon, who also have a young squad (younger than ours) and a lot of loan players, yet they're 3rd and have 17 more points than us. You don't need to invest a lot in this league. We have a lot more 'names' than the majority of teams in this league. Good recruitment is the key.

NLHWC and myself have been in the minority since day 1. We've both said letting SISU take over was the worst thing to happen in the history of CCFC. We've both also been slagged off by the righteous majority, but gradually the tide has turned and now were in the heavy majority that want SISU out. This Football Club will not thrive till the owners have fucked off. I believe there are future owners out there who will serve this Club far better, and will be able to get things like a shared interest (Although I'm not a lover of it) in the Ricoh, or better still will get land and financial help to build a stadium of worth within the City boundaries with very little or even no opposition to the build from CCC.

We haven't fucking got ONE let alone a team of them.

I completely agree that recruitment is poor, that is why I said "recruitment is key".

And it's not an estimated fact, waggot has stated that our wage bill is bigger than swindon's, and It's been confirmed by someone else at the club who has seen the league documents detailing all the clubs wage bills.

In a worse case scenario of the club collapsing after the window shuts would the PFA cover wages until the end of the season?

In this thread alone you suggest someone is filling Fisher's tank and giving them pocket money, but no, I'm sure you meant that in a positive constructive sense.

When you do bring this to court though which I'm sure will happen, try to hide all the abuse you aim at AndreasB first, my defence attorneys would surely have a field day in this world of make believe.
