Definitely one penalty which was a shocking avoidance of responsibility from the linesman, I think the ref was looking at the player who had already been thrown to the ground and was holding his face so was checking for head injury.

The ref and linesman do not miss anything however when you get a ref who is a control freak he will push away any decision the Lino makes, the worse thing to happen in footy was to give them radio mikes so that they can talk to each other, you have to watch closely and you can see them talking to one another. When the guy deliberately hand balled cos he thought it should have been a foul I see the linesmen talking to the ref and the ref saying something and shaking his head. . If you think back in time the linesman used to wave their flag more than they do now cos they wanted to get the refs attention over something or other!
He was dreadful last night and he let them waste time from the moment they scored if he had put up 26 minutes at the end that would have been nearer to the amount of time wasted, their goalie wasted more than 6 minutes alone. It is about time they changed the rule on goalkeepers wasting time forget booking them make it a direct free kick each time instead.
Just seen the goals... I know the ref got stick but I actually think he's done us a favour at the end there. Looked to me like Nouble went into the back of their player, could definitely have been given I reckon! Also, awful picking up for their goal but what a lovely little finish!
that ref has previous with CCFC, bizarre bookings, pathetic penalty awards, etc.,
for the crowd to be singing 'you're not fit to referee' after only 25 mins, says it all,
i just hope the FA assessor downgrades him,
to blatantly ignore so many fouls against CCFC shows his inabilities,
to make so many guesses at decisions was nothing short of gross incompetence,
i hope we never have the displeasure of his presence again
I would say that Andy Madley's performance last night was probably the worst I've seen at the Ricoh all season. Given that the standard of officiating in this league is as bad as the standard of football, that is quite an achievement on his behalf. I don't think he was just poor for us either, he was awful for both teams and made a mediocre game even more scrappy. I have to agree with the poster above who suggested that he was guessing at some decisions. Bear in mind that he isn't even the best referee in the Madley family, and his brother isn't that good!

I expect that, in having had the second half to reflect on the fact that its perfectly normal for a guy standing over the ball in the box to then move horizontally 2 yards through the air, a bit of a shove of a player off the ball seemed of no consequence.
I think, also, that Oldham had a reasonable shout for a pen (would need to see again). Certainly, didn't look worthy of a booking. As the game progressed towards the end, it seemed as if the Ref was sensing that he was very much on the wrong side of the city fans, there being a flurry of yellows, not all seeming justified.
Been quite some time since a ref at home has been a talking point, which says something about his performance.
