The ref tonight (1 Viewer)

Not sure whether it would have changed the game or not, but very early on he booked a Millwall defender for constantly climbing all over Clive Platt and manhandling him with arms all over the place etc.

Trouble was, after the ref booked the player the fouling just continued to happen throughout the rest of the whole match and the ref then did nothing from that point on.

It was as if he didn't fancy sending anyone off tonight.

Quite bizarre.

He also went for his cards after a foul, then quickly put them back when he realised the offending Millwall player had already been booked. So that shoulda been two reds tonight, then.

With Platt, we worked out that he was giving one in 4. Refereeing by numbers, quality.

I think unless he would have finished one of our chances or could score a penalty his input was irrelevant !

You can't blame the ref for our performance tonight...totally lacking for the occasion.

No, but you can blame him for bottling big decisions on numerous occasions. 'Cos he did.

He's sent off thirty players this season too.

Which big decisions...he gave us the biggest decision of the night...but 'Mr Coventry' fucked it up!

He should have given the offending player a red for that. He also should have called play back for a FK after playing advantage (Cody missed the chance that followed). And he went for a 2nd yellow for a Millwall player then put his cards away when he realised that player had already been booked. That's without the terrible handling of the Platt...handling.

to be fair most refs do the same for all sides. can't blame the ref tonight.

The advantage ends once a shot has been taken as the advantage has been taken.

It wasn't a red card. There were defenders behind him. The award was correct for the yellow and the penalty imo. Its harsh but correct. I was more annoyed with the systematic cheating and foul play of our oponents. Almost as classless as their supporters. Nothing malicious, no nasty tackles or sly punches, but timewasting, conning the referee, niggling pushes, trips, climbing and diving. All they need to add is surrounding the referee at every decision and you could have been excused for thinking Warnock was in charge of them. I'm not making excuses as that isn't why we lost, it was simply irritating.
