Can you hear the people sing, singing a song of angry men...

Right the revolution starts here. We as city fans have to pull this team up to where we belong. No-one else is going to do this. It is time we started putting the following steps in place:

- We start behaving positively, support the players and make them feel part of the club. Racism is a new low for our supporters.
- Think about your posts, comments and support. How can I make a difference in what I say that will help the club in a positive way.
- If we can get up to the ground in as good a numbers as possible and get right behind the team I think it would shock the players and lift the whole club.

I know this sounds crazy, but if we want to get back the good times I really believe we have a responsibility to drive change. I for one want my football team back.

I believe we have a good manager in Robins, he needs our support as this turnaround is like trying to save the Titanic.

My message has been inspired by seeing a postcard sent to the sheffield wednesday fans at the start of the season to wish them good luck in the championship and remembering two wednesday fans who died on the way to watch a cov v wednesday match. These fans are ambassadors for our club and we can all take time to act like this it could really build our reputation as a club. We are all ambassadors of our club.

I don't have other fans to compare to, but we are guilty on jumping on players very quickly, guilty of it myself sometimes. The boo'ing individual players is terrible and obviously racism is just disgraceful goes without saying.
It gives players confidence - makes them have the odd pop at goal from outside the box and can push some players on when normally they'd be too nervous too. If you're a left back eing asked to push on but then get boo'd when you lose the ball, you're not going to do it again are you?

Definitely Sky Blue Sheepy. If you say to someone "don't worry, be confident" then the first thing you will do is worry! If you just say "be confident" then you don't just think about worrying, it just gives you the boost to go out there and to be strong and confident.

I believe that we really can make a difference, and that we can influence things off the pitch. If a club loses a goal and the fans come straight back singing strongly it can give the team a real lift and a push.

But.....

after oh so many years in the doldrums.. akin to a laboratory monkey punished for misbehaviour my learning advises me to be negative.. I'm not alone- there are circa 8,000 other similarly treated monkeys... breaking out of that cycle requires effective leadership... I hope we have found it in Robins.....I remain unconvinced re the SISU puppets-Wisher and Faggot- sorry.

I must confess I have never felt lower about supporting the sky blues. But also I have never felt stronger in what I believe. If we do not take collective and individual responsibility then we cannot change the negativity surrounding the club. It is easy to say our club position is the fault of SISU, our managers and players. But believe me we have a big part to play and if we can change the way we think, act and respond then we can play a key part in changing the culture of our club and start yo affect our players, the games and our long term direction.

We speak. We listen. We act.

The original posters sentiments are great! However this club has been mis-managed for more than a decade now and in order for any owner to reap rewards and a return to better times they will need to dangle a carrott first.

Yes it's 'our' club but not in the true sense.

They are a business built on enetertainment to the masses. We are it's target masses. They first need to put on a good show and then we will want to watch them more often.
I hope in MR they have found a producer who knows how to get a show on that people will want to attend.

I believe that we are part of that show. The atmosphere of a show is part of what makes it and remember that a positive theatre that the performers perform in is more likely to get more from the performers. It is just human nature. If you work every day in an office with a negative, lazy culture you are less likely to be as productive as in a proactive, positive environment. Again simply human nature.

Those who wait for the performance to start may be disappointed as the big show may never arrive in town again.

I am as low as i have ever been with the club. I firmly believe we have a good manager now and we should stick by him, but my anger is towards SISU.
Why the feck did they stand by a man in the summer and let him bring in so many players of his choice, then sack him 3 games in. Thorn should have gone at the end of the season,a season none of us will forget, yet they still stood behind him and let him spend money that could have gone on better payers under a new manager.

There are better players as cheap as the ones we brought in, playing in the reserves in the top two divisions, so why the feck did they let a man , who was walking down the gang plank towards inevitable dismisal, spend money on players that they probably knew a new manager would'nt want.

Thats why i'm angry, but again i support Robins fully as who on this earth could make a decent team out of the dross we have. This all could have been avoided with the sacking of Thorn in the summer ,when he should have gone.Robins i'm confident would have spent what little money he had better than Thorn, can anyone on here say they think Thorn spent well this summer

Over the last 11 years this club has done very little indeed to merit such support. 42 years without a top 6 finish after all-I'm astounded we still get over 10,000 (even that's looking under threat at the moment).

Valient, I can assure you I don't work for the club.

In fact I have been to the Ricoh twice in the last two years. I read the forums every 10 minutes, listen to every match and my heart breaks every week. I cannot take supporting this club if the pain is going to continue. The only way for me to deal with pain like this is to take it head on and get involved. I believe in what I am saying and know that we can make a difference. If I don't get take up on my passion to get the club going from other fans then I am just going to disappear back into the abyss, as I think this club may have lost too much and slipped to far to be able to get back to where we belong.

I was a mascot at the age of 8. I started watching the club as a 7 year old and have been supporting the club since 1988. I would love to be able to influence the club more, but this is all I have. My only hope is that my peers see the need to respond, to get a grip of this club and raise it from the ashes.

My family are from Coventry and my grandparents lived through the blitz in coventry. I have heard stories of how everyone comes together and the Coventry spirit. I just don't understand when we all became so defeatist and negative. We should be a model of rising from the ashes and triumphing against adversity. When I was young there used to be a saying that if the titanic was painted sky blue it wouldn't have gone down. I want that back, I want us as fans to embrace the rich history we have a rise again with fire in our bellies.

I'd suggest attending a few more "live shows" than 1 per year for a start.

The revolution will not be televised...

.....neither will it be on the radio or an internet forum....

I have had a season ticket for many years, but at the moment I have a young family and work in London. My obsession for the club has never wavered, I once played for the club in the youth ranks and wish I could get up all the time. I promise to get to the Ricoh every week, if others join my pledge and think about joining me then at least I will have made a small difference. When my young children are old enough I want to get them season tickets at the Ricoh like my father did for me and see us as a strong team again.

Exactly. Too much decline for far too long with every half decent player we ever produce quickly being sold on.

The fans will only come back when the team starts winning.

The supporters have been fantastic and in reality we should now only be getting about 5,000 a week.

How 10,000 still go up is an absolute miracle.

Oh really?

I find it quite painful shelling out for a season ticket year in year out but I "deal" with it because I would like to think that I am involved!

You might not find it so easy to deal with actually being "involved", because sitting out in the cold on wet Tuesday night is a bit different to turning off the radio, or logging off your computer when you feel like you have been mugged off again for the umpteenth time.

I know, why don't we all become armchair supporters!
We would have more time for the forums and phone-ins or perhaps most of us would rather "take it head on and be involved" ;)

That is what I am proposing Stevie M. We get up to the Ricoh, try to be positive and make a difference to the direction of the club. We all pull together to rise again.

I'm up the ricoh every other week,i went to my 1st game in 79/80 aged 6,my son is 9 he's had a season ticket since he was 3,I've currently renewed every season since about 95/96 as has my old man who's followed ccfc since the 60's,i was at wembley twice with my old man,i could go on! I've seen good times and bad,but in my opinion,this is the furthest the club has ever been from the fans,the last 2 years has all but killed the club. The damage has been done,irreparable to many.

Ps,everyone knows my feelings on sisu,they make me sick,I was there for they rolled into town,ill be there after they've buggered off which hopefully will be soon.

the thing is that is what the hardcore 10,000 have been doing...we keep going back thinking our loyal support will somehow reap a miracle turnaround in form,,but truth be known the only time i have walked away this season smiling was after the birmingham cup match..but most of the other perfromances have been inept..

of course i will keep going but i guarantee if you go to the next ten matches you will soon get as depressed as the rest of us..just hoping for that one good game in ten when i can smile again after a match

I would also like to add that my points are very much about how we position ourselves as fans and whether we can think a bit differently about our impact on the club. Yes SISU make me sick too, but I want my club back. I want to know if we can make a difference to our club and not just sit back and say well it is up to the owners and the players to entertain us. I think we can influence events more that we probably realise.

Have said it before and will say it again "This is why everyone should join the Sky Blue Trust"

Our club is going nowhere and all SISU are doing is dividing our support and giving us false hope, we need a plan and the only people who are doing anything about the future is the Trust.

Its heart breaking what is happening to our club. On Tuesday the Brentford fans hit it home by singing to us "Your not famous anymore" how right they are. All we could do is sing songs at there goal keeper.
Good to have you onboard at the Trust.

Thanks Steve. Yes, it really is so sad. What has happened to City has changed my life in so many ways, as I am sure it has for everyone. A lot of what the trust seems to stand for seems similar to the way I am feeling. PUSB, City till I die.

We've made tinpot teams like Shrewsbury (and come on, they are), look like world beaters every week. At the moment I'm looking through Brentford pictures for the caption comp and they're just pissing me off-it angers me to see the club in the state it's in. Yet it angers me more that we still draw outstanding away support, get over 10,000 people up to home games, and this support is *never* rewarded with the results it deserves. Bristol City away last season was the perfect example-over 2,000 of us there crammed into that stand to watch us roll over; the initiative to improve should not have to come from the fanbase.

I give you great credit for what you are trying to achieve here DT but you must understand that many of us have been through all this before with the many years of struggle in the Prem. In those times I and my family would travel the length and breath of the country week in week out supporting our beloved Sky Blues. I would estimate that we did not miss a game (home or away) for 10 years. Sadly,we are no longer able to do that for financial reasons. These days we are live comm. listeners.
Just a small note....the two Sheff. fans were killed on their way home after the game NOT before it. I know because we were caught up in the delay trying to get back home in South Lincs. that night.

He's like a can of Fabreeze and now you can hardly smell the stench anymore.
