You need to score to win games
Same old cliche, same old problems for ccfc
We’ve lost since January Chaplin, Clarke Harris, Bayliss, Thomas and bright all capable of scoring, creating or both
We’ve played two weak teams and scored a goal. To gloss this over is nonsense.
The selling of Baylis and Chaplin I assume was required for FFP rules but it’d a real issue.
Thomas is proof games are not won on starts but on actual game time. We will miss massively his pace, endeavour and defensive work
Bakayoko is a disaster. Id love to know how he was identified as a potential signing. One in 7 goal ratio, known frailties and mentally weak
Hiwula is hit or miss and even in games he’s contributing it’s never for 45 minutes let alone 90
Biamou is at best a third choice number 9 at this level / hrs never ever going to be good enough
Last season goals were a problem - it’s going to be worse this season
People need to manage expectations - offer 14th place now I’d take it
Just to correct you, last season bakayoko had a goal every 232 minutes, and Chaplin every 260 minutes..
That's a goal every 2. Something games in actual game minutes..
He was poor today
Which proves my point about stats - it’s meaningless - the same stat would have Mick Hartford as a 240 goal a season striker for us - Charlton was a fluke and 1 in 6 is his career average
Can't do stats in that way though grendel can you because if he played 2 minutes a match it's still down as 0 goals in 1 if he doesn't score
Hence why sites like the BBC put minutes per goal underneath the game and goal tally
But his goal tally last year is an anomaly and he will score a higher ratio as when starting he will often be hauled off early as he’s once again played poorly

Why don't we have this conversation after 7 or 8 matches so we can actually be a bit more level headed about the squad... And our performances eh... Way too soon yet
His goal tally is his goal tally irrespective of how many he scored in the 1 game you keep referring too
Oddly because some people have spreads said a fit Biamou will tear this league apart, Bakayoko will score 15 goals, Westbrook is better than Baylis, Chaplin was shite, hiwula is better than Thomas.
It’s all crap isn’t it
So was Mick Hartford - one goal every 15 minutes
I doubt his stats would say that
Well we are basing it off 1 performance not over a season, no person in their right mind would use that as an argument. They do for us

Yeah lack of goals in the squad will cost us, it was an issue last season particularly before bright signed and it will be an issue this season too.
P.s. Bakayoko is not a goalscorer.

I get most of those. But what’s Hiwulla got to do with Thomas? They played on opposite sides, at the same time. Hiwulla isn’t a replacement for Thomas.
You would take 14th as oppose to what?
Yeah, he gets goals, but tends to be pretty anonymous too.hiwula is a very odd player
Take the 2 bakayoko got at Charlton out to show his threat of a goal per game, it's not goodJust to correct you, last season bakayoko had a goal every 232 minutes, and Chaplin every 260 minutes..

Il say you are jumping the gun considering we got 1 point last season after playing a relegated side and Wimbledon, almost relagated... From the 1st 2 games
Take the 2 bakayoko got at Charlton out to show his threat of a goal per game, it's not good

Muccas mad boys said Hiwula is better as his assists and goals prove it.
I think we would be better off playing 442
Take away ronaldos 500 goals and his stats are shit
Terrible argument
Ok take the last game Ronaldo scored twice in and look at his statsI think we would be better off playing 442

Mick Hartford is a 240 goal a year striker then

Bit a both I think. The formation doesnt suit our players (e.g. Hiwula certainly isn't a left winger), and I think Robin's is a bit negative, for a striker he seems more worried about conceding than he does about scoring goals. Last season in a 4231 he only really allowed us to attack with 4, not we're playing 433 we're only really attacking with 3, and looking for midfielders to score 20 yard yarders. Personally in league one and two, defenders are rubbish, I'd like to see 2 up top and put them under pressure, get some width and get balls in box. Too many times today we were too narrow trying to pass our way through the middle trying to score the perfect goal.Is it formation, the players available or both do you think?
I don’t think the formation assists natural goalscorers anyway and the new guy may struggle, hiwula is a very odd player and Biamou and Bakayoko are just never up to it
Grendel I know youre not this stupid.
However you spin this you are comparing a lad who played a whole season to a lad who scored in a sub appearance and never played again
No you are including a freak sub appearance and ignoring his whole career in this league.
In this league Bakayoko is a one goal in 7 centre forward. That’s generous as well as he does get substituted a lot as he’s in effective
One season is irrelevant - we have 11 new players - his career is what it is - he will some seasons improve the average due to more penalties or an anomaly as at Charlton but his career is what it is. The expectation is he gets one goal every 7 games.
Sorry you're miles away, no point explainingSo using this logic McNultys 28 goal season was bad because he got Alot of braces that season and infact had many games where he didn't score..
Terrible argument sorry
Which proves my point about stats - it’s meaningless - the same stat would have Mick Hartford as a 240 goal a season striker for us - Charlton was a fluke and 1 in 6 is his career average
