Looking at how today leaves the table, Brentford in six really have to be the realistic target. Bournemouth look to be massively dropping off and Brentfords form isnt great. I think the other five above we will struggle - they all have at least a six point gap and will surely pick up enough points.

There is still a definate oppurtunity here. we have five games coming up until we play......Brentford at home. Next three games are all against teams in the bottom six - if we can go into that Brentford game having put a nice little run together (which with the games we have is definately doable) then they will surely be well within our sights!

remember - we only have to over take two teams to make the play offs

Brentford should be a target with us indeed having to play them.

Maybe SP will have sorted our home form out by then.

I really hope so. The next two home matches are a great opportunity and there can be no excuses - if we cant beat Colchester and Hartlepool at home at this stage of the season with this much on the line, we dont deserve to make the play offs. A couple of home wins under our belt and hopefully some of that pressure to win at the Ricoh will be lifted.

There are.

That's why we've got to keep on winning.

Im talking in terms of what we should be targeting. Why would we be targeting a team who are currently below us in the table?

Bournemouth have had five very difficult games, but from now on in their run in looks very comfortable,so i expect them to pick up and go and claim a playoff place.
Tuesday's big for a lot of teams chasing Donny and Sheff Utd.I hope we are still sniffing come the Brentford game as i feel them and Yeovil & Tranny will be the ones we need to catch.
Yeovils small squad may just be the thing that costs them in the end imo.

Maybe but losing five on the spin will have knocked their confidence big time. I think they may fall away now.

There is no point even looking at who is playing who it doesn't matter this league is a lottery at times. We could make 6 points up in 2 games its easily possible.

This morning we were 7 points from the playoffs. we are now 7 points from 3rd. I have stopped guessing and am now hoping.

Guessing about the City just gives you a headache.

Just had a look at the run ins of the teams in the mix. Ours and Bournemouth are the kindest. Some of The top six are playing each other every week.
Means nothing if we don't win the two home games this week.

Just a shame swindon, Yeovil, Brentford and sheff Utd all have a game in hand, makes it difficult to make a proper assessment.

Precisely. The harsh truth is unless the home form is completely reversed we have no chance of finishing anywhere near the top 6.

It does indeed, Stu. Tonight the table doesn't look too bad.

Were Brentford and Yeovil to pick points up from their game in hand on us then it's back to a gap of 7 points again.

It's all still very muddled and the goal posts seem to keep moving from week to week.

Bottom line is though, we need to win both Tuesday and Saturday. Win both those and I think we should be a little bit closer to at least one team in the top 6.

...and the home form can't remain as bad as the last 3 can it?

Yep, every game is a must win, need an Eddie Howesque honeymoon period - won 6 out of his first 7 to really put us in serious play off contention.

Thing is, if we were to make the play-offs you would have to say that we would most certainly be the in form team in the top 6 and the club with the momentum.

Let's not forget that only a few weeks ago Bournemouth were sitting at the top of the division and now are only two points ahead of us with the same number of games played.
I still think we have a realistic chance of the play offs but it may depend on others slipping up ala Bournemouth and us not shooting ourselves in the foot.
