Confused as to where this has come from?

We're down to the bare bones, have nothing in the way of a squad an he wants to get rid of players to sign others ? Are we budget wise really in that dire straits ?

If true , according to the interview with MOGGA it might well be .
Then it's appalling

I'm sorry but from the outside looking in this makes absolutely NO SENSE

Just don't take any notice of spin - positive, negative or otherwise.
We have no money - we will always be surviving on opportunist signings. We almost got lucky last year, but ran out of steam
We have a decent manager who knows how parlous our situation is (and believe he does), so why get upset about this sort of meaningless communication

Won't be complaining if he brings in Clarke by offloading a few players. Let's be honest who is irreplaceable in our team at the moment?

As usual the headline from the CET reflects nothing that the article actually directly says...

It doesn't make sense why he would need to do this really, but let's hope the players he brings in are worth selling players for. Just as long as he don't offload players just to bring in loans and leave us in an even worse position next pre season

Exactly, just their usual twist on things. The way I took it was if he wants to spend money on players he might let a couple go and do some juggling around. They just know city fans will see that headline and start to complain.

Here we go again. Everybody moaning before they know the full story. If he off loads two fringe players to bring in a star we will all be happy. TM is just playing down the expectation.
Can we stop these stupid posts for three weeks and then comment when the window shuts.

It's not the point, the point is we're already 10 men down on last season, that's 10 men's worth of wages already freed up and season ticket sales up on last year. The point is how an earth can we be in a position to have to offload players when we're already in a position where we hardly have any players as it is. How are we that much worse off than last season ?

So who goes?
Possibly players like Haynes, George Thomas or even Willis. He doesn't seem too keen on lamerais and he's moved vincelot around a lot. He might want to sign players that are perfect for this 3-4-3 system of his and let go of those that don't suit. To be honest I can't see a lot that he would be willing to let go off and I'd like to think we could keep all the players I've just mentioned.

I read it as things like players with a transfer fee or high signing on fees. I would sacrifice Finch for one all day every day.

Possibly a fee to be paid?

If Mowbray didn't have the money to build a squad I don't think he would've spent money to sign Jones. If it's true that he needs to offload then surely it was stupid buy Jones. Just another article that the telegraph have exaggerated, nothing to worry about.

Moan moan moan. If they put the kit man up front, the tea lady at right back and Mowbray goes in goal. I'd still be willing them on to do well. Some of you lot need to cheer up a little, the transfer window doesn't shut till the end of August ffs.
It is expected though, the hysteria before the start of last season was just as bad.

We just splashed 6 figures on Jones. I imagine Mowbray is saying we'll get rid of some squad players that we don't need to free up wages for someone like Clarkey.

I've been saying the same thing since 3rd May 2012(OK SBWM) The phylosophy is sell 6 players on £2k each, bring in 3 at £1.5k each and have £7.5k pw. in the bank. This is what SISU have done in the 8 years of tenure. The squad gets smaller or just about stays the same but with much more inferior players coming in. Coleman moaned like f**k about "Being on the bones of our backsides" when we had a full squad of 25 and half a dozen injuries ffs!

The philosophy over the last few of years has been to try and reduce a wage bill that was unaffordable. There is no £7.5k in the bank, we've been making losses for as long as I can remember.

TM has his budget, he is happy with said budget but like most in this league he will need to release and potentially sell players in order to bring in and afford thr wages of new players. Its not rocket science.

Yes but as demonstrated on a post the other day where somebody said "how many other league 1 teams try and live within their means and be self sufficient" it shows that people don't really seem to grasp that. It is as if every other League 1 team is ploughing in millions.
