So it says at 9am it will be when players are told they aren't wanted.

Is this when players are told or the actual list of whats been said becomes public?

I don't really get this to be honest, we've only got about 12 players under contract and most of them are kids. You can't just let players go if they are under contract and if they aren't under contract you can't say they aren't going to leave so what exactly is this list of released / retained players supposed to be?

Isn't it telling the out of contract ones he wants to keep them and the others see you later?

I would imagine the players already know. Some will probably already be off on their holiday and I can't imagine we'd be releasing names for them to pick it up via any press release (who knows, some may have the CET app on their mobile device....... ;) ).

And I think the purpose of it is to keep fans in the loop, as we would expect to happen. Then again , by pre season, some of them may have seen it as a kick up the ass, work their butt off over the closure period, and be reconsidered upon their return to camp. Or was it only Pressley who goes back on his word ala Jordan Clarke and Barton? ;)

Something tells me once Tony makes a decision, he sticks to it so we might as well know who he wants to keep and who he wants to dump.

Possibly but would that be players who have agreed to stay? If they're out of contract they could go anywhere, would they agree to stay at this stage if they thought they could get a better offer elsewhere?

I would also assume it will be a notification of any put on the transfer list too.

9am roll call...

The clock is ticking and getting rid of the rubbish players our club has accumulated under rubbish managers.

Who stays?
Mowbray decides!

(In a Geordie big brother accent)

It will be a mix, out of contract bye bye, in contract paid off, transfer listed, out of contract we would like you to stay....I am sure players would have already received an indication, phones might have been busy last night.

He has to be pretty ruthless for me, for a club like Coventry City to score 25 goals at home in League 1 is appalling, not to mention all the cup exits by Christmas. He needs to see off all the kids who are frankly just not good enough and all the prima donnas who were here for an extra years easy pay, plus any trouble makers and if you listen to rumours there has only been one of those to my knowledge.

The club will begin talks with Marcus Tudgay, Reda Johnson, Ivor Lawton and former loan player Chris Stokes ahead of the 2015/16 season...
Frank Nouble, Adam Barton, Andy Webster, Shaun Miller, Simeon Jackson, Al Bangura, Danny Pugh and Blair Turgott are to leave Coventry City this summer.

All eight players are out of contract and have been informed they will not be offered new deals, with manager Tony Mowbray looking to re-shape the City squad for the 2015/16 campaign.

The club will hold talks with striker Marcus Tudgay, defender Reda Johnson and midfielder Ivor Lawton on extending their stay with the Sky Blues.

Also, the club will extend Jordan Willis' time with City by taking up the one-year option in the defender's contract.

Chris Stokes, who is now a free agent after being released from Forest Green, impressed during his loan spell and the club will hold talks with the left-back on a permanent deal.

The club would like to place on record it’s appreciation and thanks to all players who are leaving this summer and wish them the best of luck for the future.

Not bad shouts really! Never seen Lawton play though to be fair!

Good choices IMO. Reda is always an injury doubt (and I said I wouldn't sign him again) but nobody can question that he does bring something to the team.

Just about right don't think some of those released will get clubs very easily.

Barton and Nouble are the only ones I would have maybe seen as being on the retained list. Pugh was a disaster in the end.

Tudgay will be a good choice if Mowbray can get him playing week in week out like he did at Walsall.
