Just seen on the telegraph website how AT managed to secure the post:

The 44-year-old boss was offered the post yesterday and agreed to a one-year rolling contract with the Sky Blues, beating off four other short-listed candidates.

His arm must be aching somewhat today

Sorry my previous post was a tad pessimistic ref AT - appointment common sense DOES prevail after all. But a word of caution - the reaction from all quarters is hugely positive but let us not be too hasty give Andy time for his WORK IN PROGRESS to be fulfilled.
No head hunting if a losing sequence inevitably happens. Remember the fans criticism of Mick McCarthy of Wolves / Big Eck of Birmingham and others demanding heads must roll when things stalled - contract stability paid off with promotion to the promised land. So keep the faith and give Andy masses of Sky Blue support.

With Brum and Wolves though, they had expectations well above ours (or at least the expectations of sensible fans). Hopefully they don't start giving us talk about a promotion push and so on and just let him get on with things without manufactured pressure.

I think it may have more to do with beating off the other candidates. He's a big lad though and he was part of "the crazy gang" so it wouldn't have been too much trouble.

I wouldn't dare to imply that any of the Crazy Gang were gay..the brother of one of them, yes, that's common knowledge, and his story is a tragedy...well, maybe John Scales, too. But not Vinny, Thorny, Wise, Fash, Cork, Sanchez etc..now that was a hard team.
