we have serious issues with these imo, its been like this since coleman days it seems, needs to be rectified
we seem incapable of taking a quick throw in, we just stand there looking confused ignoring people who make runs and come short and end up throwing it down the line, we must give up possession from throw ins at somethign like 70% of the time
it infuriates me,i wonder if its just me or has anyone else noticed this?
Ive got to say I completely disagree with the OP. for the first time in ages I think throw ins are ok. They wait until a player is free and play a throw to them and 9/10 the player plays a touch back to feet so the thrower has possession to pick a pass. I get sick of balls just tossed up the line and hoping for a bit of luck, which usually ends in giving the ball away needlessly. If your talking about when we're 2-1 down with 5 mins to go then it's a different matter. But generally I've noticed an improvement
Totally agree with you! we must be the only team in the league that when its a throw in its a disadvantage to the team, we are shite at taking them and always lose possesion as a result.
It isn't really a problem, but an annoyance, but it's better under MR than his predecessors...
Under AT this was a stupid tactic, we dogmatically threw it forward, time and time again, to Platt, and time and time again, we lost the ball and possession and were immediately on the back foot! Even more annoying as we were a 'passing' side but didn't grasp the fact if you had a free man back pass it him and build it up.
Totally agree with that. We're finding a little space and our men a lot more now. What I would like to see is when the opposition have a throw by their box, that we crowd and harry them a little bit more. Other teams do it to us.
