Why haven’t you reduced ticket prices for the Yeovil match?
Under Football League rules, we are only allowed to run a fixed number of promotions per season

Quick question, did we charge £25 + for tickets at Sixfields ?

There was a pricing structure at Sixfields which remained consistent so there were no promotions as such.

There you go. Corrected it for you.

The Sixfields tickets were reduced to compensate for the extra traveling costs.

Oh well at least we have a ready made excuse for the impending poor attendances, should be at least 25k Exeter game though....

yeah so they danced around the issue which is pricing structure is a bit steep in many fans minds.

Pricing structures should be competitive to the market they are in.

It's ok people saying they think £15 is about right for league one game but if no team charges that it clearly is not right.

Why not? Are they in our situation? Are they offering the same product? Are they all well priced?

By your logic no budget option would ever exist in any market.

Surely we're offering a better product? A "world class" Premier League stadium and a side that looks like it's got promotion credentials?

People price in the market they compete in. You seem to have a real problem with comprehending basic economics.

I personally think its too high, if you ahvent got an under 16 with you , the cheapest ticket available is £22 , on matchday its £24.

So you're implying that we are competing with other league one teams for fans money?

Seems like you have a problem comprehending the entertainment industry and football in particular.

Other league one teams aren't competing for CCFC fans money and as such our pricing strategy shouldn't be looking at them. We're competing against other forms of entertainment both online and locally.

A better question is what are local attractions offering family entertainment (if that's the segment you're going for, separate analysis required for the single male/old man segments) offering? How do we compare with the zoo or the cinema or bowling?

I thought you worked in marketing?

If that was the case, most games in this league would be dirt cheap for prices with the grounds in this league.

i mentioned on another thread. CCFC missed a trick this season in terms of getting fans back. Should have stuck to the season ticket prices and match prices from sixfields as a goodwill gesture for the past 16 months hell. If they could afford to subsidise sixfields then a ricoh with 20k in at £14 would be more feasible than a ricoh of 10k at prices of £22.

Just a thought

Ticket Prices

Adults: £30 to £50
Seniors (Over 65s): £29 to £44
Under 22s: £29 to £44
Under 18s: £19 to £34
Under 12s: £7 to £15
Under 10s: £5 to £12

These are the prices Leicester were charging for the Man united match (sold out) so do our prices look good value to any one.

Or

Tickets for Villa v Man City are now on general sale.
The Category A match takes place on Saturday October 4, with a 5.30pm kick-off.
Standard prices are £27 to £45 [adults], £27 to £45 [concessions], £20 to £40 [U18s], £17 to £40 [U8s] and £38 to £45 [adult/junior (U16) combo ticket].

I was playing devils advocate, but as I said earlier on his Sixfields prices were cheap to subsidise the extra traveling costs of a 70 mile round trip. We wouldn't be getting 20k at £14 a pop, we averaged less than 11k in our last league one season at the Ricoh.

I do work in marketing but you don't need a GCSE in marketing to work out that you will get additional revenue at certain price points. Charging what we do will give a competitive revenue on average crowds. Lowering prices will not significantly attract higher crowds on a continued basis . It never has.

But we do do 'being a mate for a tenner' or 'kids for a quid' 4-5 times a season which then brings the average down. We also usually price JPT and FA cup ties pretty cheaply.

Lets look at it another way
if you cant afford the one off payment on a season ticket , with no direct debit being offered yet
23 matches in the standard zone all tickets bought in advance cost the average fan £506 a season each if they attend each match
premium zone (so halfway line )£575
League 1 football , are we serious

Oh right you're arguing that side of the coin in this thread, not the "CCFC fans only turn up when it's cheap" side ;)

Not sure we've got a good enough sample to say that for sure. Most ticket offers tend to be on games that have low attendances anyway. But I take your point, halving the price wouldn't double the gate. I do think that there's some scope to be smarter about it though. This City is pretty economically deprived.

Derby have some very good fan offers and incentives to go , the crowds in recent years have been fantastic

Save yourself £200 get a 0% credit card and buy a season ticket, pay it off in instalments. Man up

Every club's season tickets are a lot cheaper than buying matchday tickets.

Nothing to do with manning up , its a ludicrous pricing scheme , for your information i have a season ticket , my point is the average fan is paying too much money to watch 3rd tier football , do all the people on this forum earn 50k a year and think money is no object , the average working man with kids on an average wage will struggle to attend matches

Barely 200 pound for a season ticket at munich, crazy prices we can only dream of in greedy england

Blame the players and agents. 99% of clubs are making annual losses year in year out the only winners are players and agents.

Do they pay less wages? Make more in other areas?

False edit: found the answer: they look elsewhere (especially commercial sponsorship) to make most of their money and don't see fans as their main cash cow.

Not if you get a JSB memberships and sit in the family zone. With no early bird prices and no finance offers we're all having to find ways around it. 0% credit card, instalments. Jobs a good one.
