If the question is how do we get more people in, then reducing the price will be the answer. If the question is how does the club maximise its income, the answer is not to reduce the price.
It is if it brings in a lot more paying customers. And if bringing in more brings the stadium to life it would help our players. And they say that a promotion would be worth about 5m a year. That is serious money to our club ATM.
I can't remember a game where discounted prices led to a large increase in the crowd compared to those who would go to the same game at the higher price.

You are not telling me if Crewe in the JPT had been £22-24 it would of sold out? Come on
No I'm not telling you that, I'm saying that the difference in the Crewe attendance could not be described as a large increase compared to the number that would have gone.
And from a financial point of view, which is the main point of the argument, 25,000 people at £24 (with a promise of a cup final ticket), is hugely more beneficial than 30,000 at £5.
So why didn't the club this then? Why did they reduce it £5?
I disagree majorly I think if tickets were £22-24 normal price instead of £5 it was the attendance would of been hugely affected. Was it 32k sell out I would say more 15-20k. I would say that's a big difference.
Hmm quick calculation 32,000 x £5 = £160,000 £15,000 x £20 = £300,000......so King of Kings going with your worst case scenario
you are agreeing with Rusty Trombones revenue argument or do you not see that???!!!
Course I do. Yet another poster who can't answer the question. I agree with the figures 100%. I shall ask again.
Why did the club reduce it to £5 a ticket then?
And also RT said it wouldn't affect attendance now this can't be proved or disproved I guess but i think it would of not been a sell out had it been £22-24 that's just my opinion though. I accept that.
They kept the price at £5 because they don't know what they are doing. The same as they thought as Gillingham was on Sky no one would come, and needlessly reduced the price.
ok, we disagree with the attendance figures, but if I accept yours, 32,000 at £5 = £160k, 15,000 at £22 = £330k. The price should have been higher.
I said it wouldn't have a large affect, prices definately have some affect.
In neither example I don't know anybody who used price as the justification for going.
Guess we will never know but 32k down to 18k say IMO. I would call that a large affect. This is where we disagree you probably think it would of been more 25k fans. Either way tickets shouldn't have been £5 if posters on here tell me it's about making lots of revenue from ticket streams.
In neither example I don't know anybody who used price as the justification for going.
I've bought an adult season ticket this year. Do you know anyone with a spare wheelchair? You paying adult prices yet..........cough cough !?
I said I don't know anybody personally who used it as justification.Let me get this right because I am intrigued.
Those people that have spent over a year telling us that we only filled the Ricoh because of ticket prices are now saying that the ticket prices made no difference? :thinking about:
You shouldn't believe what anyone tells you on here.
They reduced every jpt game to a fiver so stuck to it all the way throughCourse I do. Yet another poster who can't answer the question. I agree with the figures 100%. I shall ask again.

And a sniff of Wembley? If it was purely cost then burton would have been a bit more busy.i know loads of people wh only went to crewe cos a fiver

So that isn't what they did? It wasn't a fiver for every jpt home game? People bang on about it being too expensive but find another reason when its a fiver! So you would charge £10 for fa cup v Arseley 1st round and then keep it £10 for Arsenal Quarter final to "stick it all the way through"?
So that isn't what they did? It wasn't a fiver for every jpt home game?
it was what they did yes. You are right. We all know that. Im questioning the logic as would you charge £10 reduced tickets for arseley fa cup first round and keep the same ticket price for arsenal at home quarter final of the fa cup?
You stating they kept it £5 all the way through well why? They have got a better product to sell an area final so made no sense to keep it at £5. so why do it? (Remember ticket sales was a big income stream for us)
exactly. JPT tickets were cheap to FILL the arena. no different to now
nick is a sixfielder though and just shouldnt comment on ticket prices,
we bring the club home and he reaps the rewards.

Why shouldn't I comment? I'll be paying the same as everybody else, didn't realise this was a thread for people to just find more excuses not to go now we are back.
You are the one putting people down incorrectly, stick to playing the race card and wumming yeah?as far as i was aware you had a sixfields ST
and i am going sat regardless of price, doesnt mean we cant look at changes. stop trying to put people down for doing so.
