Think that's already happened, however if more people went then there would be more money for signings and loans.

We should stop going to away games not home ones. Every time we attend an away game we give our opposition more ammunition to shoot us down with and widen the gap.

Reading rubbish like encouraging people not to go and hoping we lose makes me dispair. Fans weren't like this in the past.

I think you need to go back to your Playstations and your football games. After all if you start losing you can start again, can't you?

torch alot of the problem is people want to support the team but do not want to be giving money to SISU when they clearly do not invest in the team. So its a catch 22 situation no fans = no money for investment, but no investment means no fans. The club is selling a product a very poor one, that fans do not want to buy and can you blame them ? Fans live on hope and unfortunatly there is very little hope given for the fans to feed on if any at all.

Having said I will perhaps look for a season ticket to something else, its more about value for money and frustration, I will always support one team - CCFC. It isnt about not giving SISU money either, we have been mismanaged for decades and I have continued going - again it is about value for hard earnt money

Thank God the posters on here only represent a tiny fraction of the supporters. It is like 'throw your toys out of the pram time,' on here. At a point where the club needs all the support it can get - so many on here turn their backs on them. Torchomatic is so right. 100% agree with him. Some fans want the board - who I don't like either - to buy this player, that player. With what? They haven't got any money. If more fans turned up they might have a bit to buy this creative midfielder and speedy forward everyone knows we need.
Football is not like going to a gig, or a night out. You all know that. You go, I go, to will my team on. The club are heavily in debt, very heavily in debt. The incomings don't match the outgoings, not by a country mile. The fans who do turn up are incredibly loyal, from around the country too, far away. Brilliant. But the stayaways are playing a really negative part in the steady decline of a team they say they support.
To me the attitude of many is typical of the Pop Idol, X-Factor way of thinking that goes on today. Success without any working for it. All the negativity, staying away, is draining the life out of the club. We've had duff boards before, going back to the 1950s. People didn't throw their toys out then.
By actually supporting the team, going in numbers, might actually speed up the departure of Sisu (who I agree, have no idea about running a club). They'll have a better team, because the fan's money will have created cash for players. The club will be an attractive proposition.
Stayaway fans, over a long period, are a big part of the problem.
Good support, good club. The choice is yours.

No, they only want to support their team when they're doing well and winning. We all want that, but it ain't happening at the moment. The club needs us more than anything so deserting the club and starving them of even more money makes the situation worse. We'll get more into debt, more players will have to be sold and we'll lose even more games. It's a vicious circle.

I cannot understand anyone with the attitude of some on here.

I've been going regularly since 1969 and will continue to do so - but for the first time ever, I can understand why people might stop.

I don't think any Cov fans can really be tarred with the "only go when you're winning" brush, but the problem now is not lack of success but lack of hope.

While obviously I agree that it's everyone's right to go or not to go I think you'll find - and naturally - that attendances rise when I team is doing well. It's us die-hards who go whatever is happening that keep the club going.

You see how many turn up if we draw Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs at home in the Cup. :facepalm:

1. Who are you to suggest to me I can't go and support my team. I have a season ticket, I fully intend on using it. I enjoy going to football matches and I go there to support Coventry City football club and get behind them.
2. So we only support our club if they are doing well now? Look up "support" in the dictionary.
3. We are struggling for money as a 'club' regardless of SISU. You are only damaging us in the long run by staying away
4. I am sure you will be one of the first people to get back on the bandwagon if we ever have a sniff of success or a third round cup tie against one of the Manc clubs, Chelsea or Arsenal.
5. Look up fickle in the dictionary.

Regardless of owner, players, backroom staff, manager, board members there is always one consistent factor in Coventry City. The fans. We were here before all of the above and we will be here once they all leave as well. As football fans we need to ride the waves of emotion. This includes the highs and as evident by the last 10 years, the lows. Don't give up now, I plead with you, because eventually something good will happen to this football club and you'll be able to say "Those 10 or so sh*t years were worth it for this moment." or "I was there at Millwall on a Tuesday night watching us get turned over, I have earnt this moment."

I despair at our so called fans at times.

Look guys, ass Coventry fans were are not like the majority of English football club supporters. There are hundreds of thousands of "fans" (gloryunters, plastics) who picked their team based on results. I see it in the City of Coventry with an alarmingly high amount of United, Chelski and Arsenal shirts. We are different from them. As football fans we didn't choose Coventry City, Coventry City chose us and we had the balls and commitment to honour that code and not take the easy route out. Times are tough but what builds a character or a group of supporters is the ability to stick through the tough times and come out the other end knowing we didn't just give up or pack it in.

Keep the faith and SUPPORT our club through this extremely tough period!

While I agree with Torchy, Snoz & Sterling Archer, I understand the frustration of the 'boycott brigade'. SISU are only interested in money, so the best way of driving them out of our club would seem to be witholding that money through lack of gate receipts. I'm not sure that this would work, but the idea is born of the frustration and impotent rage felt by the 'boycott brigade'.

One thing that Snoz posted I disagree with. If supporters turned up in droves, I'm not sure that the board would use the extra money to buy players. Another board member, perhaps, but not players.

I only do away games (I went last night) and reason why is i don’t like going up the Ricoh anymore. The whole day is rubbish. The pubs are rubbish, the atmosphere is rubbish and the football is rubbish regardless what fans may say, nice neat football is not entertaining football.

Doesn’t make me any better or any worse supporter than anyone else. It’s a expensive day out now football and id much spend money on my son then giving to the useless muppets on the pitch who don’t have a care about us fans.

I understand why fans don’t want to go up the Ricoh anymore. 32,000 ground and we got only a 1/3 that full. Reason 10 years of rubbish football in a half empty ground with nothing to cheer about..
How dare you slag off fans of Cov regardless if they go the Ricoh or not.

A lot of these posts were written just after another appalling defeat and more importantly another inept performance.We are all angry and disappointed but after a few more days we will start to cool down and come together again.
I don't believe many on here actually mean they are going to stop going,come Friday this site will be full of team talk again.I agree that there seems no hope of us getting out of this mess and that whats hurts me the most, we are the only team in the four divisions that Carl Baker would get in, we are the only team in the top three divisions that Bell and Platt would get in, i could go on and on, the majority of the squad has little or no class.
I am an oldie on here and all my best days out have been with the skyblues, and the best day out in 87 honestly ranks equal to the birth of my two kids, so i can't give up on them, as everything goes around in cycles and yes we will have much better times ahead, its just sticking in there is the hard bit at the moment.
I would say that we may be seeing the best crop of youngsters any of us on here have seen and nurtured properly will give us that word again HOPE, and with the academy doing really well in there league where they are beating the Chelseas etc of the world, gives us more HOPE.
I'll finish by saying i respect everyones opinion on this site on this matter,if they finally feel it's time to let go,then we must respect them, i just wish sometimes i could let go but i know I can't.

The problem is with withholding your money and support you're ultimately hurting the club. If, as most people on here say, that SISU don't care, then hey, why should they care that people can't be bothered to go?

Torchy, they came here to make money. They are staying here to try and recoup the money they have put in. Do you really believe they have an intrerest in CCFC that is other than financial?

I know that witholding money ultimately hurts the club, that is why I don't agree with a Ricoh boycott. I said that I understand the 'boycott brigades' frustrations not that I supported the idea.

They should care if people can't be bothered to go because less revenue means more financial difficulty for them.

Not going to have a go at guys with season tickets etc, fair play to your support for our club.....................but do you not understand that SISU have made it perfectly clear that they are now trying to recoup their original investment wherever possible, so if we got 25,000 a match it is highly unlikely they will do nothing else but re-line the pockets of their investors and after that look for a profit. They are not credible owners for an institution like a sports team, they are not interested in Coventry City or the City of Coventry only their balance sheet. By continuing to feed them money, they will stay around until they have sold every asset or reduced every cost they can. Best let it die and let them lick their wounds and walk away, the club starts again without being totally hamstrung with debt or SISU.
