TM, SISU & next season (1 Viewer)

Lets assume for the benefit of this thread that we have a good end to the season. TM & SISU enjoy and work well together.
TM gets a budget he's happy with so signs a long term deal.

How many of our supporters would be willing to get back up the Ricoh to support the club again?
I know SISU have been a disaster for this club but if he is willing to work with SISU isn't it time for supporters to forget this 'I'm not going until SISU have gone' stuff.
Time to swallow their pride and get back to supporting the club, who knows for the 1st time in x number of years we could have a positive future

With SISU in charge ??!! Don't be silly, they're still lying to us every month about one issue or another, not to mention pursuing court action.

Fisher sacked
Waggot sacked
Apologies for Northampton debacle
Drop Court Action
Reduce management charges
Engage with new landlords
Improve merchandise arrangement by moving back to Ricoh and restocking
Sensible ticket options/prices

Then I might become a regular again !

I'm only not going at the moment because it's shit. So if it improves, even this season I'll start going up again. Still not planning on getting a season ticket next season though.

But indeed the OP is correct, it could be the start of something special, but haven't we all been scorned before?, it hurt that much that the trust of it happening again just won't go away?

I'm with TM until May, I'm with the team until May. It's not a decision I have made lightly either, a burning rage when the name SISU is said still brings flames to my anger, they need to convince us all they're here for us, for now and the future.

Taking the initial OP assumptions on board.....the only additional thing required to see crowds approach the 15K mark would be for us to start fucking winning regularly.....

....win 5 on the bounce & then throw the "£10 pay on the gate" grenade into the mix & you could occasionally see 20K+ at the ricoh next season....

I think if the club began to play attractive football and their was some investment over the summer you would naturally see a groundswell of support. Poor match day experience, no kits and other things can all be sorted. Without a good product though you will not do a thing, the football is the driving influence on the business and if it remains crap you will get out what you put in.

No long term commitment from me until the club changes at it's core, but I'm still willing to see that happen. But Mowbray has certainly got me excited to be a fan again, if he even half delivers I'll be there.

I'm sure there are people who are genuinely staying away because of SISU or a specific reason but I think its a small % of those who have stopped regularly attending. For me the biggest single reason our crowds have dropped is the performance on the pitch. If we were sat in the top 6 at the moment we'd be looking at 15K or more for Port Vale and most people would suddenly forget about SISU.

Blame, blame ,blame SISU all you want but give at least a little credit where due. TM is on paper a first class appointment and to all that paid attention it seems he wants a longer term contract once we get the threat behind us this season put to bed.

As for court action. Well tbh it's their right and tbf there are many issues unresolved. The fact the council seem to have acted inappropriately can't just be ignored. Will it help or hinder us? I'm not sure. But win a case and that may lead to a positive angle immerging even if it's substantial damages. If it's not affecting what takes place with the team under TM let them have their days in court.

As for going up getting behind the team? If you can't see this as a big step towards trying to do good and wanting your team to succeed then there's no hope for you. Owners come and go, owners are never the most loved but we have a decent manager starting now and for whatever we might think we are playing at the Ricoh (that ship has not sailed yet) so get up and show your support for CCFC and the team. Forget SISU for now and get behind the club and show others who may want to buy our club we are worth their investment.

If it was just about the threat of relegation then a 2 1/2 year contract with a relegation release clause excisable by either side would have been the outcome. They also left it till the point in time where this appointment would have little to no access to the transfer market.

They need to come out in the open and apologise to us fans for the shit and mismanagement they have put upon this club and us fans..
They need to invest in the squad and I don't mean loan players who don't give a shit ..
They need to be open and transparent about the long term plans ( not the bullshit new stadium )..

What happens on the pitch is the biggest factor for attendances that's undoubtedly true but it's alot more complex than that, the sisu factor means that the majority of the people who belive you keep going to games and stick with your club through thick and thin don't feel that applies under sisu anymore, when you combine that with the fact that people got out of the habit of going due to northampton, the fact that a ridiculous beyond all belief turn over of players means the majority of city fans couldn't name our team nore recognise most of them in the street and a soul crushing lack of atmosphere at the ricoh makes going when the times are bad much much less appealing than it would be normally and don't even feel guilty about not going because quite frankly it's what the club deserve and may even be what the club needs to increase the chance of sisu going.

I believe this is true but think that it would be 12K rather than 15K

Don't disagree. "Shit ground, no fans" sums us up quite nicely at the moment. Still, if we were playing one of the Big Six on Saturday then we could guarantee a sell-out, couldn't we?

SISU undoubtedly play a part in the stayaways as does NTFC, but again the first game back was packed, so it seems not too many were bothered by either for that game.

Did you ever think that as we approached TM not the other way round and we wanted him in immediately that getting a long term deal is something which follows on as this would be too cumbersome a task and lengthy process to determine and put in place right away?
Both sides have openly stated they will look at that very option going forward and when the last kick of the ball ends the season. Other wise why do you think TM accepted this job? You think he took all the risk of a 2 month appointment where he puts his neck on the block just to walk away? there would have been an outline agreement of the road ahead before he accepted the post. I think it will be very much in SISU's court to offer a reasonable contract TM can and will accept. I imagine Joy has already given approval.
It's a massive appointment for us currently and I'm certain one TM wants full time, long term or he may as well of stayed put until another club came available and joined the mire of applications with no guarantees.

No I don't think that, it would be foolish, just spend the extra few hours untill you have everything sorted, if he succeeds his value will go up and all the evidence shows that at that point we won't be able to keep him, if its the clubs plan it's a foolish gamble that can't pay off, if it's his plan then it strongly suggests he doesn't believe what he is saying.

It's the same with all the short term players we sign on a gamble, if they succeed we lose them, however much they enjoyed their time here, if success means they can get a job in the championship on more money everyone of them and that includes the manager will take it, it's not disloyalty it's just sensible behavior.

I think that the 5-7k we'd lose anyway from relegation and no subsequent success are accounted for by the football. The other 2k or so are hardcore for whom Sisu probably play a bigger part. It's a double edged sword, on the one hand it's scary to lose arguably 30% of your hardcore support in a chunk, on the other they're more likely to be the ones quick to come back when given a reason.

Absolutely, I had a ST for 20 consecutive years before the Northampton debacle and when we were on the surface of it at least still being run with a small chance of success. My support changed when SISU's stance changed. I don't expect them to break the bank, I just want to feel that my cash is going a small way towards helping to pay for a decent team on the pitch, which is how I've felt at Cov rugby this season.

How on earth can the core mission of a business be deemed "admin expenses"?

Edit: the club haven't always put the accounts up on the website have they? Fair play to them for doing so.

Edit 2: Looks to me like the admin and staff costs are seperate, but the only costs there, so anything that isn't wages is admin. Is that right?

Dunno, this is what I meant in the other thread before. Everyone draws there own conclusions despite not fully understanding and picks out the parts they want to see.

Truth is unless you are an accountant you should probably keep your opinions on the accounts to yourself as no disrespect it just causes more confusion.

As far as I'm concerned I'm gonna stick with the clubs still fucked as its near the bottom of L1 with no stadium, I don't need to look at the accounts to know that.
