To help the atmosphere at the Ricoh (1 Viewer)

Could the club not offer cheaper seats for Block 15 and 16? Try and encourage more fans to congregate in there to generate more noise?

Maybe they should close the Higgs/Telegraph stand?

Wait they already tried that and people complained (probably people who don't even go) and only about 100 people sit in there now anyway.

Very true. used to get a bit of atmosphere from there, but now it's like a graveyard.

The club could at least leave the ST holders there who want to stay, but not sell any match day tickets for that stand.

Me and my 99 friends like the view from behind the goal thank you very much ;)

Its a good view in the other stand as well, I promise.

In all seriousness I did buy my ST for the South Stand but then the morons closed it again and opened up the North Stand. Atmosphere is so bad, doesn't even feel like being at a football game anymore (the product on the pitch doesn't help either).

Very simple,

1. closer away fans, no need for the 5 blocks or so separation

2. close some of the blocks, though as mentioned, been there and people moaned

Knock the place down and build a small co-op branch with a recycling point in the car park. It would have more atmosphere, I'd be more inclined to use it and London rugby clubs would find it less appealing.

The bizarre thing Is It was the most populated part of the ground till around a couple of months ago
Then something changed and I can't remember what It was
Could have been the huge over reaction from Police and Hi vised personnel to that PSB protest thingy
Passion In the Ricoh Isn't permitted
I seriously doubt It will return until the Cretins and Owner depart our City
I however have a Sore throat headache and have subjected my poor grandsons ears to some shocking abuse of a dire referee tonight

U14's in JSB Area £5, parent £10
Over 15's in education/apprenticeships £5 - Give them another drum get them to make some noise, but put in Blk 15/16/14

All other prices REDUCED no matter what league we are in next season (yes, if we are watching U21's/youth players next season then we should be paying a reduced price anyway)

Norwich decided a few years ago they had to encourage younger fans, (when they were in L1), they dropped prices to a level kids could go and filled the stadium, so why can't other teams follow suit???

If we make 50% on FB sales, then I can't see the harm in £5 ticket for kids in education (remember kids have to be in education/apprenticeships till 17 or 18)

The whole ticketing prices needs to be looked at by an independent marketing body, question is do we want to fill the stadium and take lots of 50% on FB, or have 6-7k there next season paying the ridiculous prices we currently are???

I would love it to be busy again, keep me warm on the cold nights, but the olive branch needs to be handed out before people will come. To me that is purely cheap tickets. (and a team that has a chance of top table finish)

If my ST is going to be the same price as this year, I know where the club are going to find it and they wont walk straight for a few weeks.

yes reducing ticket prices to a low level is a risk, what if nobody turns up?? but the club have got to come up with something and quick for next season.

why is it in Prem, they have 1 row of seats between the fans but for L1 there has to be at least 2 miles of separation??????

Closing block will cause issues, I was moved from Nth Stand where my PSL is to Sth Stand block 12 for Gilly game, sorry but didn't like it, if Nth stand closed not sure I would be back.

It's no surprise that younger fans do create the atmosphere.

This season, pretty much every league game (bar the first 4/5 back at the Ricoh) has been terrible for atmosphere. The few JPT games on the other hand were considerably better. It's because block 15/16 was full of 15-25 year olds all willing to contribute to the atmosphere.

For me our prices for children, students and young adults are far too expensive. No one under 23 should have to pay more than £10 on the gate, but unfortunately it is £15!

Switch the away to the other end. then back fill from block one round people will get a similar view if they choose and we could get in to a cluster to create atmosphere, wont happen but the only logical solution I can conjure to keep all parties happy.

There's two problems with that. Firstly we've seen in the past that dropping prices doesn't see a corresponding rise in attendance. Secondly ticket revenue is our major source of income, how will the club afford to take a big hit on that?

If we make 50% on FB sales, then I can't see the harm in £5 ticket for kids in education

I would be surprised if we get 50% of revenues, I suspect we get 50% of profits which I think were said to be in the region of 9%, either way I think its a bit of a red herring. Don't think we're talking big money here.

And then that negatively affects the bulk of fans in 15, 16 and 17 where any remote atmosphere comes from!.

They should just start with a blank stadium plan. Forget who sits where at the moment and come up with the best way forward. We saw this season people whinge and moan when they try and change things so they reverse the decision and we end up with banks of empty sits in the area people were complaining was going to be closed.

Off the top of my head I'd move away to 24-27, move the family zone to 35-37, close the back rows all round the rest of the ground as well as closing 31-34 and 15-3. Have say the first 10 rows in the CT stand cheap with the idea they sell quickly and it grows from there. I'd only open up 15-3 when there was demand, do it a block at a time. Would fill the whole ground with the back rows closed off before opening those up.

Don't think we'll ever move forward if we try and work around what's already there. Need to just start from scratch, people will have a moan but then they'll all move somewhere else and make the same noise.
