I'm positive that Doug King is 100% better than that c**t RichardsonBryan Richardson
Same here, and after the 99-00 season, I thought we’d be pushing for Europe.Bryan Richardson
When was the last time we felt genuinely optimistic with our owners ?
Every fucking time we get a new one! When was the last time we felt genuinely optimistic with our owners ?
You and I need to sit down and talk about this new investment opportunity I have.Every fucking time we get a new one!
I'm gullible and enthusiastic. Not a good combination.
They were initiallySome thought Ranson and Sisu were the saviours
The question was who did we feel genuinely optimistic with, not who did we think was crap. Some thought Ranson and Sisu were the saviours
The question is a negative one though isn't it. SISU, Richardson... just showing that optimism over owners will inevitably lead to crushing failure and disappointment! The question was who did we feel genuinely optimistic with, not who did we think was crap.
Why turn everything into a negative debate.
I take no pride in being the SISU Cassandra! If we’re honest and can put hindsight away, when Sisu first came in and we brought in Dann, Fox, and Westwood it felt like something was happening.
I take no pride in being the SISU Cassandra!
Well... I do wonder how I was able to find plenty of information (OK, at the time I had access to certain people and resources) but people who were professionals in the area supposedly were blind to what SISU were...Come on, you take a little pride…
Disagree re dann and fox initially. People were questioning buying defenders from WalsallIf we’re honest and can put hindsight away, when Sisu first came in and we brought in Dann, Fox, and Westwood it felt like something was happening. Before that probably the Big Ron/WGS era.
Of course we know how both of those ended
If their plan had worked and they had a robins instead of a Coleman who knows!!Well... I do wonder how I was able to find plenty of information (OK, at the time I had access to certain people and resources) but people who were professionals in the area supposedly were blind to what SISU were...
If their Gran had testicles and a liking for horses...If their plan had worked and they had a robins instead of a Coleman who knows!!
Based on what?I'm positive that Doug King is 100% better than that c**t Richardson
From what I recall, it was between Nigel Pearson (when he was assistant at Newcastle) and Coleman. If their plan had worked and they had a robins instead of a Coleman who knows!!

When we first considered Robins, it was between him and Thorn - there would have been outrage from the majority had Thorn not got the job.
For 1 he allegedly tried to buy the stadium not sell up and leave us not owning anythingBased on what?
tbf, as caretaker Thorn did OK. The error was not replacing him quicker really, as he showed no gumption in trying to get us out of trouble once we hit it.From what I recall, it was between Nigel Pearson (when he was assistant at Newcastle) and Coleman.

For 2 he didn't pull the rug out from under Robins feet as what was done with Strachan on a number of occasions
For 3 he's actually delivered on what he said he would, oh yeahhhhhh
I remember going to the game away at Palace that September and it was clear we were going to get relegated - it was dreadful. If they'd have got rid of him though they'd have been an outcry - the club was in decline but sticking with him damaged the club even more.tbf, as caretaker Thorn did OK. Then again the club was declining anyway, so probably not an ideal time to become its manager whoever you were!
Well he’s already botched #1, but he’s only been here six months - plenty of time to botch #2 and #3!For 1 he allegedly tried to buy the stadium not sell up and leave us not owning anything

He's yet to fund £6.5mil players for Robins either...Well he’s already botched #1, but he’s only been here six months - plenty of time to botch #2 and #3!
According to Ranson he could have had Neil Warnock but chose Coleman over him. From what I recall, it was between Nigel Pearson (when he was assistant at Newcastle) and Coleman.

He hasn't had any opportunity to do so - and do you mean putting £6.5m of his own money, or £6.5m in purchases (funded from a £15m sale of Julian Gray etc)? He's yet to fund £6.5mil players for Robins either...
He hasn't no. Which was kind of my point in the context of the thread...He hasn't had any opportunity to do so -
Good old Uncle Ray!According to Ranson he could have had Neil Warnock but chose Coleman over him.
Good old Uncle Ray
I'd sooner be where we are now under DK, than where we may well of been under Sisu. He's yet to fund £6.5mil players for Robins either...
Not felt this great about owners since sisu improved the stadium situation and led us to checkatrade, league 2 and league 1 silverware and then left us with a playoff pushing squad.
