Anyone else changing their opinion on how we will do this season. To me it goes down to the final couple of games. People are realising the gulf in quality between League 1 and the Championship

We should be fine as long as we can sort our defence out. Having to score at least 3 goals to win a game is far from ideal. I don’t think we did that more than twice in League 1.

Tbh, I was always sure we’d be in the bottom 7. I knew it would be tough. However, we are a decent side. Also, Sheffield Wednesday are on -8 points, and Wycombe are very shit, so we should survive, but it’ll be close between us, Rotherham, Barnsley and maybe a few others.

Long season. Beating qpr doesn't mean we're going up. Losing to Bournemouth doesn't mean we're going down. Wycombe are already gone. Rotherham ain't far behind. Sheff wed still on - 8 we'll be ok

Feels a bit too early still to lean in any direction, the team to deservedly beat us have just come down from the Premier League so that's going to be one if the biggest gulfs we'll face. Looks a run of tough games in the next weeks that might start to shape our season

I don’t think the Bournemouth game is a good barometer as to how we’ll do this season. They are a class above. We all know the Championship is a competitive league, but we’ll compete with the likes of Stoke, Luton, Huddersfield, Middlesbrough, Wycombe, Sheffield Weds etc who are all mid to lower table teams. We’ll be fine, Clinton said so too

We won’t come up against that kind of quality every game.

Like Robins said we need to learn & our team spirit alone will keep us up over other teams.

There are some positive signs as well as some issues.

The big worry is the goals against column. If Robins insists on wing backs against most teams we will be in a lot of trouble

It won’t work as it just ends up as 5 at the back and the midfield overworked

We are not good enough to play expansive passing games against these sort of teams

tbh I thought we were mad going for the system we did in the division below - lower level players need lower-level tactics and all that, but the team has progressed as a result of adopting that style. Perhaps we have to suck it up for a season or two, and hope we're still in a position to attract better players each window, and maximise the value for *our* better players because of the style we play.

Anyway, not too downhearted really. We've done well in the first couple of games, were ordinary against Barnsley and let's face it, we were always going to lose a fair few times in this division just atm. As long as management can keep the belief in the players that they're winners, whatever the results say, we'll be alright.

It is far too early, but you only have to look at how the promoted teams have struggled and largely been quickly relegated to see how tough the championship is. This season is all about survival.

We have issues across the pitch. We're leaking goals, we're struggling to create many clearcut chances, the attacking midfield apart from O'Hare. Teams will look at how affective Barnsley and Bournemouths high press was and look to use it against us.

I’m glad we played them so early in the season, hopefully this acts as a wake up call to the players and robins that there is a massive jump in class. Sometimes a defeat like this can do us the world of good to change mindsets. Fans need to be realistic that we are in for a tough long season

The first goal was again another screw up starting from trying to play the ball out and we nearly got caught again

One isolated centre forward is not especially attractive either. Walker was a big signing and has to play at some point - we have zero pace in the team

No. The gulf between League 1 and the Championship is bigger than the gulf between the Championship and the Premier League. Two and half years ago we lost at Forest Green Rovers and were half down League Two. Robins has done an amazing job to get us to the Championship with minimal investment. Will we stay up? Maybe and if we do then Robins will have done an even better job.

If he's a walking booking / sending off, he's going to be little use for us, whatever his abilities. Got to hope he's got the football brain to learn.

As ever, though, we have to buy potential, so it's going to be very rare any player we get is fully finished.

Agreed. This is partly why I think we’ll go to 2 strikers soon. With Allen, COH and Gooden, there isn’t an option to go direct, no pace to get behind the line and not enough physicality to beat defenders. Assuming no signings are coming in, unless Jobello can play in that AM/wing role, we’ll have to switch it up eventually.

Robins is adaptable when it comes to tactics, so I’m sure he’ll figure something out.

All 3 goals last night came from their high press and we lost the ball in our own half. Bournemouth had premiership quality in their centre midfield and we had bottom half Championship quality at best. We are going to need to find an out ball to play past the high press teams are going to play against us. Could be pace over the top against the high line and we have players good enough to ping a 50 years pass but not really the pace to exploit it other than Giles, or use a target man which we don't really have. MR has got some head scratching to do. PUSB

Well with the international break and then a 3 game suspension he won’t be playing till the end of this month now. One month of not playing football. He needs to sit down and reflect on his karma. Knock the childish aggression out and channel his energy to his strengths.

He is Kasteener mk2 with his hot headed nature. Dutch production belt...

He's done alright until now. The whole team's growing pains really. Same as he wasn't better than Walsh, Allen wasn't worse than Shipley etc. before yesterday, it'll take a fair old while for them all to settle down, regardless.

It always takes at least 6 games before the league really takes shape.

This season is going to be tough and there will be a number of teams who will just out play us like Bournemouth and there is no shame in that.

We will be a bottom half side and our main aim is to just stay up. I think we can achieve that as long as we don't get slaughtered by injuries.

We need about 15 wins and 10 draws.

No, I was always under the impression that it was going to be very tough, that survival would be a good achievement and that there's going to be many games where we are just simply outclassed, like last night.
