Anyone else changing their opinion on how we will do this season. To me it goes down to the final couple of games. People are realising the gulf in quality between League 1 and the Championship

I suppose it's the long-term thing, though, and it's also the style of play that attracts the likes of O'Hare to come in the first place. We are not good enough to play expansive passing games against these sort of teams

tbh I thought we were mad going for the system we did in the division below - lower level players need lower-level tactics and all that, but the team has progressed as a result of adopting that style. Perhaps we have to suck it up for a season or two, and hope we're still in a position to attract better players each window, and maximise the value for *our* better players because of the style we play.
Anyway, not too downhearted really. We've done well in the first couple of games, were ordinary against Barnsley and let's face it, we were always going to lose a fair few times in this division just atm. As long as management can keep the belief in the players that they're winners, whatever the results say, we'll be alright.
No. The gulf between League 1 and the Championship is bigger than the gulf between the Championship and the Premier League. Two and half years ago we lost at Forest Green Rovers and were half down League Two. Robins has done an amazing job to get us to the Championship with minimal investment. Will we stay up? Maybe and if we do then Robins will have done an even better job.Anyone else changing their opinion on how we will do this season. To me it goes down to the final couple of games. tbh I wouldn't sign for us if I were an ambitious centre forward - that's one position where we make the game hard for them.Players won’t want to me losing every week and getting little service.
Wing backs isn’t an attacking game when the midfield over run you and the wing backs - who aren’t great full backs - end up in that position
The first goal was again another screw up starting from trying to play the ball out and we nearly got caught again
One isolated centre forward is not especially attractive either. Walker was a big signing and has to play at some point - we have zero pace in the team

The other positions, though? We can't help but make O'Hare look good, Hamer too... if he can stay on the pitch long enough! And they can see the likes of Dabo, and see it's a progression to come to us atm.
Dare I say it, a Bayliss type (type! Although there's a move that seems to have gone badly wrong!) moving from midfield into the box could break things up for us. Godden does badly need some support but, it's been the case since we went up to League One that we've left our strikers to fight for scraps.
He's badly got to calm down, that's for sure.Hamer was terrible for a player who cost more than any signing for well over a decade
He was ill disciplined on the pitch gets caught in possession an alarming amount of times and is out of control with wild tackles and stupid decision making
There are some positive signs as well as some issues.
The big worry is the goals against column. If Robins insists on wing backs against most teams we will be in a lot of trouble
It won’t work as it just ends up as 5 at the back and the midfield overworked

If he's a walking booking / sending off, he's going to be little use for us, whatever his abilities. Got to hope he's got the football brain to learn.
As ever, though, we have to buy potential, so it's going to be very rare any player we get is fully finished.

He's done alright until now. The whole team's growing pains really. Same as he wasn't better than Walsh, Allen wasn't worse than Shipley etc. before yesterday, it'll take a fair old while for them all to settle down, regardless. He was awful and in relative terms was an expensive acquisition - I don’t see the hype
