Based on today’s comments, Davies contract extension will be triggered meaning he will be here next year.
However, Davies is clearly not happy with the amount of playing time in the last 2 years.

Would you extend his contract, or let him go ?

Robins said Club will trigger "option" written into contract which means he will be contracted next year.
However, Davies clearly not happy about playing time. Therefore (unless he plays weekly) we will have an unhappy player on our hands. (Although doesn't seem like/no rumours to suggest he has been a problem this year)
Sounds like he will be here next year and player has no choice. (Unless money is offered by a club)

Straight answer... Yes, I'd certainly have him here next year. Especially with the likelihood that Willis is off.

Would certainly want to keep him. Good solid centre half and organises the defence well.
Unfortunately, if Willis goes and he probably will, Davies is a must keep.

Yes, but I don't like the 'play me or else' attitude he seems to have developed. Can't help worry that he'll be a bad egg if he doesn't play every week.

Yes for sure - slightly worried though with his attitude he may be our next Elliot Ward!

However if he plays which if Willis goes think Hyam and him will be starting centre back partnership.
We will miss Willis's pace though maybe not his brain but his recovery tacking and speed is second to none.

Davies and Hyam though both good do not have Willis's attributes.

No player likes being subbed I guess, and Managers often say they don’t mind seeing a player being disappointed to be taken off as it means they are committed ... I guess there is a fine line though between that and being defiant

I think with Willis seemingly off Davis will be resigned and see more game time , everyone is a winner. While Willis was here the others were always really fighting over 1 spot as Willis always played if fit!

I’d keep him. He and hyam have done ok in recent weeks and until we know more about Rose I can’t see Robins wanting to lose Davis (assuming Willis does leave).

100% be happy for him to stay and have no questions over his attitude or comments after yesterday’s game.

On the pitch he gives 100%, is vocal, commanding and wants the win and shares that winning infectious passion I want in a dressing room with the desire to want to play and have the shirt weekly.

Yes he’s not played as much as he’d of liked over his two years here, that’s partially down to bad luck, illness and the emergence of Dom Hyam who’s grown in stature who shares a similar skill set as him.

At 27 and arriving late into the professional game you can understand why he wants to play weekly and think he’s gone about his business well when not in the side.

I’d be more concerned if he was happy sitting on the bench here.

I think some are reading his comments assuming a divine right to play, I don't think that's what he's advocating. I don't think he's always afforded the same opportunity to return to the side after injury or suspension as Willis or Hyam and was taken out more often when they were both available. I've always liked all 3 of them and thought it was whoever had the shirt should remain in the side if we win or they play well - I think that's what he's asking, but Robins seems to have preferred a Willis/Hyam combination. Last season he was competing with Rod McDonald too, but has played no more games this term.

I'd keep him certainly, but then I'd like to keep Willis too and I guess if we manage to re-sign Willis that Davies will be off.

Wouldn’t mind him stay as he can do a reasonable job. If he decided to go for more first team football then I wish him all the best.
