just thought I would post his record so far at the club (league only)
somebody said we haven't lost a game away so far under him and it got me looking into it .
so here it is .

HOME.
P: 8 W: 2 D: 2 L: 4 GS: 9 GA: 12

AWAY.
P: 8 W: 5 D: 3 L: 0 GS: 12 GA: 3

TOTAL.

P: 16 W: 7 D: 5 L: 4 GS: 21 GA: 15

I think the home record will definitely improve this season , and if we can maintain even half that away form we will be right up there PUSB:claping hands:

Yes the home form must surely improve. I was surprised at how poor that is. However after the Wigan game I think our attacking intent will get more points per game at home this season. As for away I can't see us doing that well but as you say half as good should still see us pressing top 6.
The Crewe game is important...bury a bogey team and get another three points and the start of the season looks very rosy.

I agree with this post - Beat Crewe tomorrow then the pressure wont be as high on Saturday - Win tomorrow and don't lose on Saturday

Absolutely. Keep thinking it's all a dream. Of course teams will adapt and play us differently in future...less high defensive lines our front four can run through. But TM is very canny and has already intimated that our style will change for different conditions and teams. I'm impressed by his patience in the transfer market...no duds so far. I'm impressed by his remarks in press and post match...v calm and thoughtful. And I love his style of football so far...we should be watching entertaining stuff even if we are always winning

My mate said to me against Wigan ' can't play this lineup away - too lightweight'. I wonder if the opposite is true? At home, the away side can justify sitting back more to try and negate Armstrong's/ Murphy's pace. However, when we are playing away, I don't think many home crowds will tolerate a team set up defensively, and playing deep, without getting on their backs. That's why I think we may have some real fun away performances (fingers crossed). Think the potentially more frustrating games may come at the Ricoh (but hopefully not).

Yes you may be right. Our home performances last season for example were frustrating to say the least. I think our movement at this level is way above usual and hopefully with TMs guiding hand we should score in most games

It was our movement that took the Third Division by storm in 1963. By January we had a nine point lead at the top of the table:

That was the league table just after we had beaten Millwall 3-0.

Plot spoiler - we then failed to win our next 11 games!

But we still only dropped to second, four points behind Palace. We were still behind them on the last morning of season - only to finish on top of the table on goal difference by the end of the day.

Will history repeat itself?

Its nice to be sitting on top of the league at present but my feet are firmly on the ground at present given the shit we have had to put up with over the last 10 years however this is the first time (maybe second time) that i thought we do have a realistic chance of doing something. When is the last time we battered a team like we did on Saturday, i cannot remember the last time we scored 4 goals in a game!?

We will break the points record this year for this league , solid defence, decent attack and midfield.

we are playing a class above and hungry.

It's the roller coaster ride - we're on the up grade - but for how long? Really hope it's all season - not felt this good since ... er, I can't remember :guitar2:
