Was in Whitley early this morning, and a range rover raced past me about 15 miles over the speed limit towards a set of red lights, and then ploughed right through them. The guy broke hard in the middle of the junction and hit a small car coming across through greens.
Guy got out, and the old lady driving the car was really shook up, the cars definitely a write off. Apparently she was about to give it to her granddaughter as a gift for getting her A-levels. They exchanged info and everything, but I felt like the guy was trying to coerce her into thinking it was just one of those things that happen.
I messaged the police as the whole incident didn't sit right with me. But they said that the victim has to report what happened if they're going to look at it, and that there was no evidence anyway. Also, they said the police don't prosecute traffic offences unless an officer witnessed it on site. I know the last bit is complete rubbish.
Is there anything I can do, or is it just a case of letting it go?
