Lots of talk about the fact that most clubs do not have large movements of players in and out and also the fact that we have not signed a player on a fee. This summary illustrates we are very much the norm.
There is some stability but the majority of clubs ship people in and out and some clubs have lost far more players that they have gained.
As for transfers I can count 17 with a fee (undisclosed) but if you look at the players some are from the likes of Harrogate Town and Worksop - so less that £10,000 I would guess. In fact it is pretty certain only 3 real fees have been paid according to this and the biggest spenders seem to be Crawley Town

Exactly. In terms of wages spent etc. we're one of the biggest spenders. Bristol city have probably spent the most in transfer fees due to the freeman deal being worth £1 million plus and some money for korey smith. Our fans don't look at other teams, they make judgements based on nothing and are all in all fucking stupid.
so you pair know the accounts inside out and what city pay in wages, the fact that any high earners are being released...is ok, FRY brands his fellow fans as stupid....some could label you a complete moron but name calling isnt really a route to success is it.
Coventry fans dont expect to be playiing in this league ...arrogance maybe, however the spiral of decline continues and the band plays on...but its ok aslong as other teams are seemingly doing the same as us...again we dont know exactly what they are paying do we? the frustration again comes from we are selling for good money (alledgedly) and seeing nowt but free's coming in....most coming back from injury....makes em cheaper to get i spose and maybe some may be real gems, but we have done this before and look where it ended.
No I don't know the accounts but I know we have a bigger playing budget than Bradford, Chesterfield, Colchester, Crawley, Crewe, Fleetwood, Gillingham, Notts County, Oldham, Port Vale, Rochdale, Scunthorpe, Swindon, Walsall and Yeovil. Just look at the caliber of the players we have signed and then compare it to those clubs to see the difference. Why do our fans not do an ounce of research on other clubs before stating ridiculous things like we have the smallest playing budget in the division.

so "undisclosed" is not a real fee ?
interesting

Because we are all fucking stupid?

Only because it doesn't fit Grendel's argument! Of course that negligible 10,000 fee could also have add on fees linked to development and future deals.
A fee is a fee.
Usual thread started by Grendel.
It cannot be answered.
Wages for a start are not disclosed by any team yet some seem to think that we are in the top 10 others worst.
Where is all the proof of this???
Why does it matter wages have never made a player play any better.
He is paid what they think they can get away with.
The Notts county that have signed the following to add to their squad this summer
Hayden Mullins
Taylor McKenzie
Liam Noble
Alan Smith
Nicky Wroe
Blair Adams
Gary Thompson
Zeli Ismail
Jake Cassidy
really ?

How can we have the biggest wage budget on the lowest crowds? Genuine question. Even with the Wilson money, we're not back to the amount we have with 8k paying fans, and as some on here are so fond of reminding us all that was with no revenue streams (which are vital for being competitive).
Instead of looking at 2-3 players and claiming we must be paying more, why not look at the squad as a whole. How do we compare to other teams in terms of pure number of players and number of academy graduates in the squad.
Our wage budget will be fairly solidly mid-table at best.
Looking around at what other teams spend, most have a wage bill of roughly £2m, some as low as £850k, some as high as £15m.

I am looking at squads and squad sizes. I will see what I find. Who in this league has a £15 mil wage budget?
In the 2012/13 accounts our matchday receipts we £2.8m and that was with a fair few Cup games and an average of 11k in the league. So with wilson's and Christies fee, we're probably not far off that.
What is the obsession with paying fees? If there are 2 players of equal quality, one on a free and one with a fee to pay, I'd have the free one any day.

Not sure this season, but the Championship teams I've looked at that got relegated seems to land between £10m and £15m. 15 is admittedly the absolute high end.

Fair enough.
What about merchandise and sponsorship that have also taken a hit?
We are bigger club than all the clubs you have mentioned. And we will be relagated because we have what I think is a poor side playing in a crap stadium .cheered on by a handful of lost lambs.we should not be in this position.
