McFadz could only play in a back 5. But I assume you mean leader / communicator type of CB?robins knew the start of the season the defensive players weren’t good enough, boddy said in an interview in the summer we’re 2 defenders short, even he knew, we recruited for a 4 3 3 hoping we’d just score more every game, just haven’t seen a good defender in any of them since they‘ve been here, need a McFadz type, watch them, nobody organises anything
yeah, that type of player, we haven’t got one centre half that reads the game or organises us,McFadz could only play in a back 5. But I assume you mean leader / communicator type of CB?
Don't get what has gone wrong with Kitching ? At times last season he looked a fantastic player , one of the first names on the team sheetWe need to figure out our defenders.
Is Kitching going to cost us 5 mill or whatever and see his contract out sat on the bench?
I wouldn’t mind Binks at LB if needed… he’s decent on the ball and obviously not a weakness in the air. Most of our clean sheets are with Kitch and Thomas. Play them in a 4 with Bidwell back in and we would look more solid. Binks is unlucky as he is a tidy footballer but we need a more uncompromising defensive style in the next few weeks.
Probably him or Kitching at LB in the long run and there’s a decent bit of balance there ‘in theory’.I wouldn’t mind Binks at LB if needed… he’s decent on the ball and obviously not a weakness in the air.

If Robins knew the defensive players weren't good enough, why did he re-sign Binks?robins knew the start of the season the defensive players weren’t good enough, boddy said in an interview in the summer we’re 2 defenders short, even he knew, we recruited for a 4 3 3 hoping we’d just score more every game, just haven’t seen a good defender in any of them since they‘ve been here, need a McFadz type, watch them, nobody organises anything
Sorry, was including last season.“Most of our clean sheets”
haven’t we had two?
4 including the League Cup and 75% of those had Thomas and Kitching at CB.“Most of our clean sheets”

I really don’t think playing players out of position is what we need right now.I wouldn’t mind Binks at LB if needed… he’s decent on the ball and obviously not a weakness in the air.
He's not a left back and not good enough to play there in our system, he should never have been signedI wouldn’t mind Binks at LB if needed… he’s decent on the ball and obviously not a weakness in the air.

This summer Wright will be off and likely MVE. Plus Vik moving means a decent kitty will be available. They won’t be staying for a 3rd season in the Championship.
I find it incredible that teams like Leeds, WBA and Sheffield United seem to jettison good quality players each year for various financial needs and manage to sign free transfers who don't seem to hamper their progress and performance. Why are we not that savvy?
You would expect us to have 20mill+ to spend again in the summer. MVE, Wright, Sheaf will all leave at the minimum imo and you then have the likes of Eccles, Simms and Bassette that others may take a punt on. Gyokeres sell on too. Just hope we've learnt our lesson and stop signing players from no mark leagues.
Aren’t you advocating signing someone from the Polish league?
Wages. I’m sure their wage bills are still significantly higher than ours. And Leeds/SU offer realistic chances of playing in the Premier League.I find it incredible that teams like Leeds, WBA and Sheffield United seem to jettison good quality players each year for various financial needs and manage to sign free transfers who don't seem to hamper their progress and performance. Does it matter when we save millions on transfer fees? The end result over a typical contract length will be the same surely.Wages. I’m sure their wage bills are still significantly higher than ours. And Leeds/SU offer realistic chances of playing in the Premier League.
Then operation premier league is fooked. We're not going to throw a bunch of players in the bin that we signed for millions on long term deals.
