Rocky is just 22, has played over 80 senior matches, and has a lot of room for improvement.
Reports Boro could be selling Tavernier to Bournemouth too, they’re going to have loads of money to spend
Davis is English and is under contract at a PL club.
The same applies to Archer, who's also young and currently excelling in England's U21s.
The two examples aren't really comparable as Villa don't actively need to sell and are in a position where they can price their players at overinflated values - we aren't.
As always Platt, thanks for being the wanker who checks Google to correct anything anyone ever says… where would we be without you?
Just so you don’t have to stat check me, I’ll check Google so you don’t have to. My main point was…
Keinan Davis is 24, Gyokeres is 24
Davis scored 5 in 18 league appearances, Gyokeres scored 17 in 45 league appearances.
If Davis is valued at £15m you would ‘hope’ Gyokeres would be valued similar seeming as he’s a full international (without factoring in having the UK price tag increase Davis would have)
My additional but not as important comment was Archer was of ‘SIMILARISH’ age with a hefty price tag. I didn’t state exactly how close that was but in future I will ensure I check Google for every comment on the basis there might be a wanker out there like you correcting everything anyone says

You see personally I’d say Villa do need to sell fringe strikers seeming as they have such ambitious transfer plans and want to bring in Strikers such as Suarez and bought Coutinho who will be on big wages

A dreaded sunny day,'Cause there's always someone, somewhere
With a big nose, who knows
And who trips you up and laughs when you fall
Who'll trip you up and laugh when you fall'
Anyone know the lyric?
Other than a short term financial gain doesn't seem like a good move for him. He'd be leaving somewhere where he is guaranteed first team football for a team in the same division where he may not be. A risk worth taking if it was a move to the Premier league but I don't see it for a move to another Championship team. It may be that our way of playing suits him but he wouldn't work so well in other teams. Let's not forget he had a disastrous time at Swansea.Wonder how Gyokeres himself would feel about going to M’boro. The wage hike would be nice but I’d imagine he would want his next move to be a higher division.

He didn’t really have a disastrous time at Swansea - when he came here from there he was never a first team choice and an apparently injured Biamou was ahead of him
Middlesbrough have intent to be promoted
Fully agree, he needs to prove he's not a one season wonder, and if he can reach 15-20 goals again, lots of Premiership teams will be very interested in himIf I was in Robins boots I would just tell Gyokeres that if he has another season like he did last year he will almost certainly be a Premier League player this time next summer. Could be with us (unlikely) but if not and he has 2 seasons scoring double figures in the champ he would have a pick of options.
If he moves to another mid/upper Champ team he is back to learning the system, building an understanding with team mates and gaining the trust of a manager. It took 6 months with us before he truly clicked. Unless he is determined to make the jump to a lower end Prem team right away he'd better off putting his head down and improving his game here where he is loved and settled, with the understanding he can make a bigger and better move next summer.
To be fair if I was him and got offered a move to middlesborough on double the salary for a 3 year deal I’d bite their hand off. Be mad not to, set for life
Short career, and one shit season could derail you.

Never saw him play for them of course but no goals in 11 appearances and I thought their fans were very negative about him.He didn’t really have a disastrous time at Swansea - when he came here from there he was never a first team choice and an apparently injured Biamou was ahead of him

@Skybluebeliever do you know when are we announcing Palmer?
His last post was liked by Gyokeres - must be in the bagDon't know when the club are announcing him but he's currently in Jamaica with his family (according to his instagram)

Probably know each other from Swansea? @Skybluebeliever assume it's unlikely any players will be much the wiser about prospective signings? His last post was liked by Gyokeres - must be in the bag
Unless we have been gazumped and he's signing for Middlesbrough!?His last post was liked by Gyokeres - must be in the bag

Only problem with the first paragraph it that’s it’s all ’if’ he has another good season
Footballers have short careers and everything has to balanced.
Yes Gykores could score 20 + next season and guarantee a move to the Prem
He could also score 5 and become our next boo boy with the chance of a decent move gone
He could also injure himself next season meaning any big move is gone.
All of which the club and Gykores have to consider
So he can sit on our bench for a season or two?Wolves signing Calvin Basset, bit of a push but will Giles be available.
Appreciate all of your points however have a slightly different take on itI get that but I really feel he isnt a player with that mindset. The lad is a current international who has come off the back of an excellent season he'd back himself to push on again.
I also think he'd still have a fairly high stock even if he didn't replicate his goal scoring this season. He offers so much to the team even when he had a dry patch. It would take a lot to go wrong for him to change his whole style. Say he scores 5 all next season there would still be plenty of Championship clubs willing to take the gamble.
Unless a massive yo-yo champ or prem team comes in I really think he would be better off sticking put and using this as a delevopment year somhwere he is a 100% gurenteed starter

I really can’t see Villa having to sell players. Sawiris is a multi billionaire so I can’t see money being too much of a problem.

Giles will go to a top championship club, he shows up well on the ‘chance created’ metrics for a wingback. He’d be good for a team that put a lot of crosses into the box.
I don’t think he’s great but I think a top champ team will take him if he’s free, not many LWBs out thereDon’t think he did too well at Blackburn did he? Was taken off at half time against us
