I guess if you really want him off the books you make up the difference in his contract for a year, i think thats a thing that happens right? Made up figures but say we pay him 6k a week, someone else is offering him 3k a week for 2 years, we make up the difference between 3 and 6 for that first year.he's on really a lot more a week than other clubs will give him so not sure he really wants to leave.
The 'Chelsea' connection, I presume. They may be but we are likely to be quite high up that list

Wonder if Tommy Doyle is worth exploring on loan? Sheffield United obviously have Hamer now and are apparently in talks with Tom Davies.
I think he is easily good enough, tbf. Possibly a loan abroad?Premier league?
likely, if not a recently relegated onePremier league?

Yep I saw thatlikely, if not a recently relegated one
he also started their game so is pretty high up the pecking order there
I'm really not sure its as black and white as you're making out.So, the same question applies: How do we convince a Premier League prospect and his parent club to come to Cov on a rotational basis?
Either the prospect is so good that they would clearly be first choice, which I cant see happening given the level of investment in that area or we take a mediocre player on loan that can provide useful cover. If it is the latter, then that is all good, but I think we may as well buy said player for the greater economic benefits long term.

On a need to know basis so you know the cretin you are talking to Grendel is on record that Kenny Jackett should be our manager….don’t laugh !!
Well from the myriad of people we tried and failed to get off the wage bill last year, even that won’t be easy. Best hope is a loan where someone can contribute.I guess if you really want him off the books you make up the difference in his contract for a year, i think thats a thing that happens right? Basically the same thing with a year to run on his contract.Well from the myriad of people we tried and failed to get off the wage bill last year, even that won’t be easy. Best hope is a loan where someone can contribute.
Either way his performances last season were clearly so bad nobody will go near him, no matter how far out of his goal he comes.Basically the same thing with a year to run on his contract.
He did unfortunately, more than once . Grendel ,once his mind is made up , is not for turning . You will notice it this season with Kasey PalmerDid you actually say this? Presumably, you were being ironic?

Oh well, at least we only have one obvious dud taking up wages. Pretty good compared to, well, any season in living memory.Either way his performances last season were clearly so bad nobody will go near him, no matter how far out of his goal he comes.
Good to see another poster putting his support behind TavaresOh well, at least we only have one obvious dud taking up wages. Pretty good compared to, well, any season in living memory.
I thought about him but i doubt he's paid enough for it to matter.Good to see another poster putting his support behind Tavares
He did, but in fairness was a long time ago. Think maybe in the league one days.Kenny Jackett being our manager, that is, not that Slowpoke is the voice of reason.

True, but he has continued his Robins out campaign at every opportunity. He did, but in fairness was a long time ago. Think maybe in the league one days.

Surely renders all of his other opinions null and void when his judgement is so far of the mark from a reasonable person.

It's just one of his deflection tactics. Ignore it.Erm... what?

I see, so because we both expressed our surprise that anyone of sound mind would make such a statement, we must be one of the same people. Logical reasoning isn't a strength of yours, is it.

Why are you arguing with Grendel, you’ve been registered on here a week and are picking a fight with him. At least wait a few yearsI see, so because we both expressed our surprise that anyone of sound mind would make such a statement, we must be one of the same people. It was in our first Championship seasonHe did, but in fairness was a long time ago. Think maybe in the league one days.
Makes sense them using the free transfer market, seeing as they are spunking cash on floodlight leccy to announce signings left, right & centre.
Assumed he'd end up at a middling Championship club. Sums up most of the business Sheffield Utd have done.He must have a good agent as he has always looked hopeless when I have seen him play.
