Got myself a lovely Barbour wax jacket for Christmas, I do like to keep up!
I would love to be so 1990's.So 1990s!
Been there done that and the Volvo estate. So 1990s!
I would love to be so 1990's.
I'm working my way up. At the moment I am still on butterfly shirts and flared trousers.
Talking of trends.....
18 matches to go. Repeat what we did from the first 18 games of the season, then that's another 37 points which would give us 85 points.
Would that that be enough for 2nd spot....
Had a cracking first half the season at Sixfields, then Pressley decided to bring in proven experience with the likes of Robinson to boost us in the run-in.
Best was sold and Wilson got injured. Then even the blind could see he was clueless.
...and Wilson came back.
It was the disrupting of what had worked before by bringing in the experience that aided and abetted a slip in form.
Best and Wilson together kept us out of the shit.
Best?

I still don't see why it's denied that things changed when we brought in some experience, changed the players who had been performing. Selling Clarke is separate to changing the style of play and not playing to the strengths that had got us that far... much as Armstring being out injured would be separate to the argument that bringing in the likes of Cole and Hunt jars how he team performs, and doesn't play to the strengths that got us this far.
I'd say it's all a little black & white with you and your arguments... if it wasn't for the time/space mashup going on here!
Selling Clarke meant Pressley didn't have a striker that was scoring for fun to get him out of the shit. Or are you forgetting or choosing to forget that we could score 4 goals and yet still not win?
Not sure why I mentioned in OP.
The scene seems set for you to bang on about negativity... before drifiting off to be negative about Thomas or Phillips or someone
Did you miss Wilson coming back and the introduction of Robinson and co, much as you seemed to miss us selling Best?
Ridiculous thread. In each of these occasions, with the only exception being this season, the experience has been signed because of a slump in form.

Did OK under Nilsson until we decided to bring in proven players such as Carbonari and Trollope to boost us in the run-in.
Had a fair start under McAllister until we decided to bring in some experience with the likes of Holdsworth to give us a boost second half of the season.

Now before ccfc4life gets all in a jizz on this threadI'm not saying the same *will* happen. Ricketts, after all, has bucked our trend for signing washed-up old has-beens just as they head to the glue factory and not just before. It does seem, to me, however that Cole and Hunt etc. threaten to disrupt the balance a little of what we were building.
We shall see if we make this season the exception, or if we follow those previous trends.
(and yes, I know this is broad brush strokes so the anal match by match analysis will be a bit:slap: )
