Could be the first manager to get 0 points from 2 appearances on the same night

I quite like him tbh, think he usually comes across pretty well and like it or not his life experience gives him a bit more interest than your average boring footballer

The bloke is an idiot. His post-game interviews at Forest Green have been an absolute car crash. Hard to imagine anyone being motivated to play for him

Where did you see this? Nothing on the FGR twitter.

Needs doing, the guy is a liability. 3 managers since Rob Edwards. And still can't get it right

He was given a 4 match touchline ban earlier today, now rumours he has been sacked.

Yeah when I saw that ban I thought they may just rip the plaster off now.

It’s on that weird EFL Zone. Tbh he’s got it coming. Couldn’t care less that it’s Dabo he publicly called out, as doing that to any player at all is just shit.

Show some diplomacy. c**t.

Don't want to be harsh but how does anyone hear Troy Deeney speak and think he is manager material?

Same goes for Wayne Rooney. Neither were clever players. both played best when worked up, on the edge and playing on instinct. Excellent at what they were good at but that is just not what is required for leading a team.

Troy Deeney sacked after just six games as Forest Green manager following ban

Troy Deeney has been axed by Forest Green after six games at the helm - a matter of hours after the ex-Watford forward was handed a four-match touchline ban by the FA

Don’t think it for those reasons as plenty of managers have had a bit of needle in their playing game. It’s shit like he pulled that is the issue, the “so what if it’s not meant to be done, I don’t care because I played PL football and I’m better than all these” attitude.

In what way? Hardly controversial to think both come across as reactive people unsuited to management.

They do seem to like an... eccentric managerial choice.

I can think of a few disciplined hard men that have done ok in management but that's a different category than I'm getting at

Ha maybe. That lady was just interim as she was the U21 manager. Maybe a bit of a stunt but was more the media getting the wrong end of the stick.

All gone bit pear shape since Edwards fucked them off after winning the league they went out and got a well thought of coach from Notts County, just didn't work out. Horseman was a gamble on the back of his coaching. Deeney was just there and loud I reckon

Ha ha god I'd forgot about him!

I take it all back, bizarre. Maybe Dales has a kink for nutters

Weird how badly it's gone for them in 18 months. I want them to do well as their new stadium is planned for about 5 mins down the road from me

tbh given the money he's thrown at them, they underachieved for years until Cooper sorted them out.

Have they even started building that ground?!?

Rooney was an incredibly clever footballer as was Bobby Charlton - neither were good managers - Harry Rednapp was a successful manager

Was tied up in planning. Held up by noise fears despite the fact it's right on the motorway they sorted that then instantly found a bunch of Roman remains when digging foundations.

What are you getting at?! Did you ever think Rooney would make it as a manager then?

Rednapp is a stretch, he was a wheeler-dealer and by the end his style didn't really hack the modern game.

I don't know if he really was. Definitely not saying he was a reactive lump on the pitch. But he played on instinct and was highly skillful. He could see pictures before others and that's a natural talent.
