How about recent year comedies? Nothing unusual these days to watch a whole show and not even smile once.
Never saw that. Did they also do it with women too?
I have all the Fireball XL5 episodes on DVD.Someone mentioned this kids classic from the 60s. Happy memories.

This Country and People Just Do Nothing are both brilliant recent comedies.
Great showI've never seen any repeats of Soap. It was on Friday nights at around 11 on C4 in the early 80's, not sure what happened to it & whether it was canned over its' crazy edgy storylines.
And now I’ve got that theme tune stuck in my head.I've never seen any repeats of Soap. It was on Friday nights at around 11 on C4 in the early 80's, not sure what happened to it & whether it was canned over its' crazy edgy storylines.
There was another US comedy show that was on a Sunday about a politician, may have even been the president, and his crazy house. I'm sure Benson was a spin off show from it. Can't remember the name of it.Great show
It did go through a few repeats.
Another Friday night one
Max Headroom.
I've been watching re-runs of Tales of the Unexpected on Sky Arts. At the time I thought it was great. Hasnt aged well though. Very low budget and the twist at the end is quite predictable. Not that Unexpected at all. It is interesting seeing who appearted in some of them though.I've caught a few "old" TV programmes on various channels e.g. Gold, and suchlike, and they just don't hold the same charm / enjoyment for me. Even top rated shows like 'Minder', Fawlty Towers etc, just aren't as good as they were years ago. Is it because back then we only had 3 or 4 channels and you had to watch whatever was showing. Have we been spoiled with all the hundreds of TV options we now have?
Confused !! You will be.I've never seen any repeats of Soap. It was on Friday nights at around 11 on C4 in the early 80's, not sure what happened to it & whether it was canned over its' crazy edgy storylines.

They showed the first series, and made a big deal of it being the first time its been on in years, but haven't shown the second and don't seem to have any plans to show it. Bit weird. It was repeated very recently on BBC4. But I think they may have stopped before all of them were shown, as I remember Ferdie the motorcycle delivery driver being in it more than was shown. Really enjoyed it in the 90s but it had aged. Really fun listening to all the Britpop played in the background.
Had forgotten all about that.Sledgehammer, American comedy

That show was absolute madness.
The one where he had the lad singing grand old Duke of York all night was crazy.
Cringy and hilarious at the same time.
Think they're on 4OD.
I'll have to watch them. Also when he made someone post a letter of resignation to his boss. Brilliant and cringeworthy as you say.
