I was forced to do my own laundry at the age of 15 when my parents took a moral stand to me complaining they had ruined my clothes.

I would only wash leather or canvas (e.g. converse) trainers in the washing machine - not suede Gazelles or Airmax for example. I would stuff the trainer with socks to try and keep the shape and chuck in a couple of towels so it doesn’t make a racket. Wash 30 degrees and on a medium spin speed.

I’m as much a disaster with women as Russel Slade is with football league clubs, so I’m afraid I’m not prepared to comment on you leaving your wife!
