I don't understand what I've just read, we havent struggled to score in pre season have we.
Sunderland have... They've scored 2 goals and look at the striker options there.
Absolute nonsense
Yes that’s right he got a hat trickDidn’t McNulty score a hat trick against Hartlepool?
His better option is Lincoln
Didn’t McNulty score a hat trick against Hartlepool?
Was it behind closed doors? I thought their pre season concluded the other day.
Their last official friendly was a 1-0 defeat to herenveen
I do not know. Shrug!
Sunderland 5-2 Hartlepool Utd: Black Cats find their scoring boots in win today at the AOLJust looked at their twitter can't see anything about Hartlepool tbh, must have been BCD
Could understand why he would want to go to Lincoln, especially if Grant has signed for them who he would have grown up with at Forest.
Embarrassing that he let Chaplin go before he had a guaranteed striker lined up. Teams always seem to make us wait, so why don’t we make them wait for a change; he didn’t have to be sold as soon as they received the 2nd bid. We’ve had our pants pulled down once again relying on other clubs/players goodwill. Going into the season with 2 strikers(one of which coming back from a serious long term injury), is unbelievable. I hope he has someone else lined up, as a lack of a clinical striker will be the difference just like we seen last season.
I just don't buy this "We've got until 31st August" stuff - we should be going into the season fully ready. Not scrambling around for a striker again.
We started poorly last season, 1 win in the first 6 games and 1 goal from open play, we can't afford to do that.
Ha ha, Burge involved in a mix up which resulted in a goal for the non league side!
Could you judge his credentials on the number of decent chances he fluffed?I would agree re August if we had no recognised starting striker, but we have Hiwula. Who is to say Walker would have started ahead of him?
I have noticed a few people say we have 2 strikers, we have 3: Hiwula, Bakayoko and Biamou. Hiwula didn’t play as a central striker for us, but that is his natural position. In my view we can’t judge his credentials as a striker on the handful of half appearances he had their last year.
In an ideal world we’d have another striker in before Saturday, but we have to recognise we’re a L1 team and things will work slightly differently for us. We are at the whim of selling/loaning clubs more so than teams in a higher league, and a lot, especially loans, may want to wait to see what other options are available before agreeing to a deal offered by us. Who is to say we don’t have a few premier league hot prospects lined up, who’s parent clubs are waiting until mid August to release?
We are going into the season with three strikers; one rated, one unproven and one very inconsistent. However, the rated striker shouldn’t be underestimated and, as I've said before, we have to trust we’ll have another in soon.

After all a chance is a chance regardless of what position your given.
Yes, but scoring more than our other strikers is no measure of achievement. You can, but I think the majority are in agreement he is more than capable of doing a good job and scoring goals in L1; he did last year from a wider position.
He fluffed chances, as all L1 strikers do, but most importantly he scored more than our other players.
Yes, but scoring more than our other strikers is no measure of achievement.
We have one of the poorest front lines I can ever remember.
I think you forget the horrific front line we had when we went down.Yes, but scoring more than our other strikers is no measure of achievement.

A couple of years ago we had Tudgay and Beavon - things could be worse!Yes, but scoring more than our other strikers is no measure of achievement.

Yep, they really where shit, However I’d have tudgay back in a heart beat in preference to Biamou or Baka.A couple of years ago we had Tudgay and Beavon - things could be worse!
That just shows what a missed opportunity we had last season. And yet finished just outside the playoffs in our first season back in L1. Who'd've thought?
That just shows what a missed opportunity we had last season.
We were just 1 half decent striker away from the playoffs.
Yep, they really where shit, However I’d have tudgay back in a heart beat in preference to Biamou or Baka.
Oh dear it’s finally come down to debating which of our strike forces are the biggest pile of shit!

That’s also very true, hopefully we’ve solved the keeper problem now.Wouldn't have made any difference if Burge hadn't lost us at least a dozen points, but I get what you're saying.
Confirmed: You are just a WUM m8.Yep, they really where shit, However I’d have tudgay back in a heart beat in preference to Biamou or Baka.

Mmmmm, Even I’m struggling to defend myself on that one!Confirmed: You are just a WUM m8.

Disagree on Baka in fact I’m going to stick my neck out and say hell do okay this season, anyone who went to Barnsley will have seen he has it in him to be very effective, down to our manager to get the best out of him.Yep, they really where shit, However I’d have tudgay back in a heart beat in preference to Biamou or Baka!
Not as embarrassing as to when we do the Double over them this season.Lincoln beating us to a signing, fucking hell how embarrassing
Have to say I’m a little surprised there hasn’t been an announcement yet. Of course, now it will happen in the next 5 minutes.
