Unbelievably depressed (2 Viewers)

Having watched a weekend of FA cup upsets and seen for first hand the events on Saturday at Northampton (which illuminated both on and off and on and off the pitch...)

Watched Wycombe nearly beat Spurs.

I have never been so depressed as a City fan-especially now Sky are televising the semi.

Instead of what I think will happen (i.e.-protests that disrupt and spoil a game of football; and getting hammered by a team a division below us who play passionate, attractive football led by a manager who clearly knows what he's doing)

Can God for once take pity on the miserable suffering we have had to endure and make sure we get to Wembley.

Realistic it's the only thing that'll stop a few thousand Cov fans from committing mass hair kari as a protest at the last home game......

I'm that fed up i'm not sure I want us to get to Wembley. I'm concerned it will tar the one previous success we've had, if we ever make it back it should at least be for a play-off final after a decent years football. An important game there, we'd take 50'000, for this? what is the point? Nobody gives a fuck.

Actually, we do give a fuck, for many, they have not seen this, my 24 year old cannot wait for this game, he appreciates how bad we are right now and the rubbish I have dragged him too for 21 years but don't deprive many of a day out.

Ask yourself this for all who dont want Wembley.
Did you start supporting the club and attending games to have nice/shit owners or did you go for the buzz of a good game or the chance of success (At whatever level you are at)

Personally. I have never liked any of our owners, they have all been in it for themself.

I really want to get to Wembley (as it will mean we have won the Wycombe tie - and I dread the reaction in the ground if we go out). That said, I would then dread the potential performance/result if we were to play e.g.Oxford in the final - it could be embarrassing. At least we would take more fans than them and show what could be with investment. Let's get Feb 4th and 7th out of the way. first.

I am very excited about it. Many others are too. Let's see what the crowd is against Wycombe! See how many of them don't give a fook.
And then of course you contradict yourself by saying no-one gives a fook but 50,000 would go to Wembley.

If no-one cares we would only get about 5,000 for Wycombe and only about 15,000 tops would be interested in going to Wembley.

There's a few people saying nobody gives a fook. In reality they mean that THEY don't give a fook.

Fine if it doesn't appeal to you, but I like thousands and thousands of others will go to the Wycombe game and would love to go to Wembley.

Yup. Don't get the concept of accepting we are going down, but then not putting any importance of getting to a Wembley cup final.

The lower we drop the more distant the dream becomes.

Until of course we get to play in the tinpot FA Trophy upon entering non-league.

In among all the talk of smoke bombs and pitch invasions it's seems to have been forgotten that there was another outrage took place at Sixfields Saturday and that was the performance of the team.
I honestly don't see us picking up another point this season or progressing in the Checkatrade. The worse performance I have witnessed personally from a professional side.
They should all hang their heads in shame.

Worst season I can ever remember in 50 years plus. The players are awful. The standard of 'football' is shocking. No doubt we are heading out of the football league in 18 months time. As far a Wembley goes it might be the last chance for us to have a day in the sun. As my 10 year Grandson, says, 'Its Wembley, I don't care if we lose, but to see us at Wembley would be brilliant' At least gives all the fans who missed '87 a final chance to say farewell to a once great club.

Totally agree Clint. The protests have masked another pathetic performance quite successfully actually.

The players are not good enough, and they are putting up zero fight as well. I would rather some of us had a go and at least gave some blood, sweat, and tears, than continue seeing us go down without as much as a whimper.

Thing is though, while I agree, that was so long ago now that it is all going to feel a bit fresh and new.

I don't think I will ever forget that feeling of winning the cup, but time fades things a little and if there were 40,000 City fans there at Wembley the fantastic atmosphere would really make it exciting all over again.

All my life I've dreamt of walking down Wembley way with 40,000 City fans.

I'm hoping people turn up for the semi. Imagine a night like the Gillingham game. Surely people want that experience again.

Sorry, just don't understand why anyone is excited. Look at the state we're in - how can you forget about that and celebrate our performance in a joke competition? It's a bit like the Titanic sinking and the survivors congratulating each other on how fetching the lifebelts look despite the moonless night.....

Do they play attractive football (genuine question)? I didn't catch the Spurs v Wycombe game nor did I travel to Adams Park this season due to work commitments, but a friend from work is a Wycombe fan and says they play dire, hoofball route one football. Not pretty, but they're very effective at it.

As much as Wembley and a trophy would be tremendous, I cannot set myself up for more disappointment. I've had a guts-full of disappointment with this club.

If we won against Wycombe, and then packed out Wembley, it may show anyone mad enough to have an interest in the club, that we are actually worth saving/investing in, as with a sniff of success we have a potential fan base worth working on.
