Just got back and pleased with the fightback though we should never have been in that position in the first place. A thought the defence again was shocking particularly for the first goal, Edj needs to stand up to forwards he was backing off, backing off, backing off and then moved aside to let the guy shoot. If he'd have stayed on one place at least the forward would have to had changed direction.
Fantastic goal from both Wilson and Baker. And were there really 9500 there?

ST holders counted whether they are there or not, so you're right, there were not 9,500 there.
Under 8,000 I would say.
Loads of ST holders by me every game and their seats were empty tonight.

Neither really. The season has been over for a while (and that was underscored tonight). The big source of interest now is the off-field shenanigans, and hopefully seeing the likes of Callum Wilson flourish over the remaining games.

Regardless of making the play-offs we need to end the season strongly and carry the impetus from it into next season. Too many times in recent memory has a City team just folded in the last 10 or so games when there's not much to play for. Pressley can get a headstart on his predecessors by hitting this on the head before it's allowed to manifest.

Still very much in the mix tbf. Tonight was weak at best. They look tired in need of a rest but it's the same for all teams. Can we untilise our larger squad now and cash in? Hmm not so sure about that but we do have Bell who for me should have featured tonight.
We can't be hanging around waiting for Pressley to find his feet, blooding the youngsters like Willis at this late hour (though a fine goal). We need a lift and with Clarke out for at least a few games our season depends very much on those squad players coming in.
We have Ball, Bell, Fleck and a couple of others. That was a point well fought for in the end and keeps us alive. Hartlepool Saturday, dare I say should be a win and out of all those on 63 points some will lose or drop points putting possibly just 3 off the playoffs by 5pm.

Disappointed as if we have any designs on a playoff place we simply have to beat the likes of Colchester at home. However I think we would've lost that game under AT/MR/LC so under the circumstances happy with a point in the end....might be an important one come the end of the season.

For me it's a point retrieved, rather than a point gained. As valuable as the point is that it still retains the momentum and element of belief for the playoff. Two games ago, someone calculated that we needed 1.7 pts a game for a chance at the playoffs: well, that's 2 pts per game so far

Goods subs, 10 mins too late, though to be fair I didn't sense from around me that people were too sure what the subs should be. Agreed with the Moose being subbed: wasn't bad but didn't seem to be as effective as he has been.
Fleck to start in place of Sheffers on sat. We also need height, so I would go with 2 up front with Wilson in place of the Moose.
On the attendence, we know that this is calculated as ST plus walk ups, but I can only say that there must have been one hell of a lot of walk ups in place of ST holders tonight.
Could those dickheads in the CEYT stand stop booing at ever opportunity please.

Downbeat, a game we should've won, but didn't and we lost yet another chance to gain on the top 6, and quite frankly, Colchester were a poor outfit, and I think they are fairly piss poor away, the RICOH has been too fun a travel for away teams this season.
I'm upbeat in a way because I hope this is the final straw for some of the starters today and I hope the next XI sees at least 2-3 changes.

I see no reason why not. Pax, go here and take a look at the league table over the past 10 years. Look at the 37 - 38 game stage in each season. You won't find a single team which was six points behind at that stage ever make the playoffs.
So you have history not doing us any favours. Then bear in mind that three of the four playoff teams have a game in hand on us. Six points and a game in hand is a huge amount to give up at this point. Finally, look at CCFC - our longest winning run in the league all season has been two games. And yet we have those saying we can win eight in a row.
....don't be changing your minds with those flip flops now after the next game.
Not much chance of that.

im happy to see the boys still have a bit of early season fight, still in them, maybe, just maybe we might still be in with a small glimmer of a play off spot, never say never.
we have all the possesion, just need to work on finishing and our defence.
Edited to add, dont bloody boo the players when we are possesion, even if we are going backwards, its ok if we are passing the ball about trying to find a way through parked buses, it just puts the players off, if it was Barcelona they'd be applauded!

The point about the points. It is an average over the season. We need to win the next 8 games to hit the 23 pts suggested we would need. 7 wins needed to hit 22 pts I hope i am wrong but we will miss the play offs by a few points .
