Yes they were a huge help - refusing to let Jason Roberts play as there was an extra performance fee. It seems they spent around £20 million having raised £27 million in sales. Given the estimated £60 million income from being in the Premier League as well this seems hardly profligate.

He had to strengthen an ailing squad so needed to sign several players. £20 million in Premier land is the equivalent of £1 million in Championship land. Results in March were turning around. Supporters calling Five Live were almost disappointed. There venom was clouding the main issue of trying to support the club - some fans had called these programmes and said Blackburn should be a top 6 side and blaming Keane. Ridiculous.
