First half I’d agree, especially getting caught in possession a couple of times but he did a load of decent defensive work second. Not sure if this is correct but interesting stats as well

It’s the particular passes he missed that are the problem. He improved second half though. We just need more quality than him and Torp provide.
Do us all a favour and give it abit of a rest mateGet one of the multi million pound forwards, that are never gonna play, have a game in midfield.
But 52 of those passes were sideways or backwards, you Need to be a bit better than just passing it safe, to be fair rudoni and torp were just as bad, to be at the level we need to be at Eccles should be a squad player and not startingFirst half I’d agree, especially after getting caught in possession in dangerous areas a couple of times, but he did a load of decent defensive work second. Eccles was definitely better than Torp and Rudoni, for the most part, was nowhere to be seen all game.I know all the midfield were poor, but by God, Eccles was shite.
It's a very low bar then .Eccles was definitely better than Torp and Rudoni, for the most part, was nowhere to be seen all game.
I hope a new midfielder comes in. As for Torp fighting for the shirt, I don’t know if he will. Seems too lazy, is very slow, lacks aggression and awareness. Occasionally does a few good things when motivated, but largely anonymous. Palmer is the same although thankfully was motivated enough to score today. Most of this is far too reactionary.
Torp and Eccles can't play together though. They would both look a lot better playing alongside Sheaf, as he actually takes control of a game and dictates the tempo.
Hopefully a new midfielder comes in and Torp will have to fight his way back in.
It was Eccles who gave the ball away more in the first half. Nonetheless you’re right to point out that Torp wasn’t great.Torp was slow with the ball how much time does he think he has when they were closing us down from the start.Unfortunately doesn't look good enough we don't move the ball forward quick enough when teams are closing us down.
Maybe because players need more time than he’s had before being written off. Two seasons seems a fair length of time and I do realise in typing this I have broken my own rule more than once…Torp seems to get a lot more leeway than some of the other players. A lot of ‘well he’ll come good eventually’ and ‘he’s clearly a class player’ based off very little.
How many Torps have we got? They both were very poor.
i did enjoy when his "proper centre half" post of the day was mistakenly illustrated with a picture of a left back.Do us all a favour and give it abit of a rest mateI don’t know what’s worse, your obsession with the forwards costing money or the constant asking for a proper centre half.
I think the biggest problem with Torp is he looks very similar to Eccles so I really don’t know who to moan at/curse. Luckily on Saturday, they were both shite.
I think you can see he gets frustrated, he has a picture in his head for where the ball should end up after his contribution, the next pass in the chain which never or seldom goes where he thinks,so probably a communication problem, not in the literal sense but more a problem of trust, probably both ways tbf!Just remember when Wright and Simms were written off when they first joined. I’m confident Torp will come good and I’m excited to see the player he could become. You can see some of the attributes are there but they aren’t all clicking yet, sometimes he frustrates me immensely but I think he will get there

A lot of posts above ignoring the fact he's being asked to play in the wrong position, and can't do it. As mentioned, if you played him with Sheaf, and let him sit further up the pitch, he'd look good. He can't play as a deep lying midfielder.
This is more indicative of the fact that we haven't recruited the players we need for the system we're playing.
His position is CM so he hasn’t got that excuse. This idea that he’s an AM is a projection of where fans think he should be playing. Even the AV quote said ‘he’s between a 6 and an 8’.A lot of posts above ignoring the fact he's being asked to play in the wrong position, and can't do it. I think that's a very generous take. Wherever he plays he has got to be quicker on the ball, want the ball and be more aggressive.A lot of posts above ignoring the fact he's being asked to play in the wrong position, and can't do it.
