Virgin complaint on its way (1 Viewer)

The Virgin staff at Coventry station Sunday morning asked to be understanding due to the long queues and don't worry our tickets were valid for any of their trains irrelevant of the times - shame it doesn't work both ways - quite a few of us missed our train back from Euston by a couple of minutes due to getting out of Wembley. The virgin staff couldn't have been more unhelpful and understanding and that if we walked up the ramp we could pay again? but as it was pay on the day over £50 each

The rules are listed quite clearly when a train ticket is booked. If you book an open return it is valid on any train. If you book a specific train the ticket is valid on that train only. Whilst I can understand the frustration, why would you have booked a specific train? What if the match have gone to extra time and penalties; did you leave a good amount of time between leaving the stadium (baring in mind the above)?

So you miss a train and you expect Virgin to let you on a different one for free?
On the way out we get to the station on time and wait 2 hours and then had to get a taxi to Watford as we could not wait any longer - Virgin apologised and said sometimes it was out of there control - very similar to us allowing enough time to get back to Euston and this wasa out of our control

virgin were a fucking shambles. What was there between us winning the semi and the final, 4-6 weeks? And not one bit of preparation or thought went into handling all the extra custom, absolutely clueless.
It's not just about us. what about the regular commuters who suffered, if I were them I'd be looking at an alternative way of getting to work in future.

I had tickets all the way yet didn't have to show my ticket once and barriers open the whole way along, Birmingham Int, Watford, Wembley, Euston & Cov
