Visiting Fans behaviour (2 Viewers)

I am a football fan in most general terms, and of many years standing, but am utterly disgustedby the Facebook postings of a man called Ian Percival, an alleged Leicester City season ticket holder. He apparently can't wait to come to Coventry to see Leicester, yet continually uses the term Cov Scum when talking about it. Is this getting to be a general term nowadays or is it just me. He also uses it to talk about other fans, Leeds, Derby, Notts Forest etcetera. Surely there ought to be a means of stopping people like this attending, as they are obviously likely to cause trouble almost anywhere if this is the way they see other fans?

As previous experience to these clowns, they're more likely a spotty teenager who gives it the large one and then scarpers as soon as someone looks their way. Generally facebook chat between rival fans isn't too pretty to look at but like I say 99% of them are oddballs with nout better to do.

Who registers to say that sort of bollocks?

I smell a Leicester fan subliminally trying to 'big up' his own 'Visiting Fans behaviour'

I wouldn't worry about those internet warriors posting their filth. Imo they are the least likely to carry out the actions. Efforts should be concentrated on real intelligence because there will undoubtedly be more genuine trouble from Coventry and Leicester fans alike. Now they really scum and I mean on both sides of the argument, sad to say that some associate themselves with my club, but then that's more a reflection on people in general than either of the clubs.

I don't understand why someone would want to give it the big'un with their mates and in front of women and kids. I'm certain that many of the very people they are trying to impress usually consider them knobs too, but don't like to admit it.

Then again, perhaps I'm just a miserable old fart.

Ah it's the internet, go figure. And Facebook in particular. That's like going down the pub in that there's more likely to be some areshole talking crap or trying to show off to girls/his mates than there is a wise philosopher dispensing essential gems of truth. It's a simple equation; most people are idiots, and many facebook users are probably in the lower end of the IQ spectrum. It's the social networking equivalent of that transfer-rumours site.

As for fan rivalries-it's no-way near as serious as it used to be in this country. At the end of the day we all get caught up in a bit of banter, and hating our enemies is an essential part of the tribal instincts that supporting a football club taps into. As long as it stays non-violent, I think it does a great job of allowing us all to vent without turning primeval and bashing each other over the head with clubs. Although if the Leicester scum tonk us on Saturday, the fans rivalry won't even be a factor for me any more as I'll be too busy baying for SISU blood!

This is one of the best things I've ever read on a footie site and totally agree

Unfortunately his describes some of our 'fans' aswell. Then again im sure all clubs have these type of 'fans'. The word cowards springs to mind when i see this kind of supporter giving it the biggun and then scarpering!
