Waggot is hurting too (1 Viewer)

He also recognizes that our "decade decline" has got to stop and keeping hold of Mowbray this summer is the key to it all. ( Well you don't say!)

"His main job was survival and he's done that, and his management of players has been outstanding," Waggott told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.

"We've had long discussions with Tony Mowbray over a range of things, and he's very focused in what he wants."We want the best possible players for the budget we've got. We're already between sixth and eighth in this division in terms of what we've spent on the playing squad. But it's how you use the cash that counts.
"How he wants to distribute the money will be his call. He's very keen on recruitment and scouting, something we've not done well in the last few years.
"If you don't get the right players, the product is inferior, the fans don't turn up and you're into that ever decreasing circle."

De Ja Vu anyone? Heard this last summer.

Resisting calls for his resignation, he said: "At the moment I've got the reins and I'm doing my utmost to get this turned round."Since leaving Highfield Road, it's been a decade of decline. It's not good enough for a club like Coventry, I'm the first to admit.
"We've short-changed the fans, which is why we felt the need to give something back with a review of the season tickets.
"It hurts me as much as it hurts the fans and I want to put it right. We hope we have learned lessons from where it went wrong last season."

Actions speak louder than words, that should be your number 1 new rule.

So how long will we have to wait for conformation on our future? Because right now, what future have we got?

I highly doubt right now that Waggot has a contingency plan, that's all I'm worried about.

Between 6th-8th in terms of budget... is that acceptable?

If we can underachieve with the wrong manager and the wrong players, maybe we can overachieve with the right manager and the right players?

I think it's safe to say he does care, unlike Fisher, although that doesn't necessarily mean that he is up to the task. I've bad mouthed him many a time but he was influential in getting us back to the Ricoh and bringing in Mowbray (albeit almost too late).

He is bringing down season ticket prices and making moves to get the fans back, but if he doesn't get the right manager or players then it's irrelevant.

The first tick in the box would be to get Mowbray on a 3 year deal. There's also no way that he should go before the root of all evil, Tim Fisher.

Words are cheap. Too many times Waggot has been wheeled out as the presentable face. He is as much to blame as anybody for our current plight. He needs to ensure Mowbray gets what he wants and that Mowbray gets the chance to turn us around.

Yes it is. Our income is between 6th and 8th. What I would find unacceptable is if TM stayed, he got a decent squad together and we got the results right which brought a lot of supporters back, giving us a much higher income....maybe top 3.....and there was not a little extra given to TM to give us the best chance of promotion.

How does he know what budget other clubs have to spend on players ? Can you obtain the facts to make these statements from somewhere or is it just more flannel ?

I wouldn't put any manager on a 3 year deal, not unless it was on a year long rolling basis ?

They have to submit documents to the league, then all teams get to see what each other's wage bills are, for transparency. Kieron Crowley (ccfc's press officer) confirmed he had seen the league documents on Twitter.

Well people on here claim to know all the time! Maybe he asked some of the posters on here who all seem to have insider info. Seriously though, maybe they discuss it or hint at it at least, who knows?

I'm happy with Stupot's answer. I just wasn't sure these things were kept fairly confidential ?

Between 6th and 8th so it's 7th then

If the team are 6th playing entertaining Football (not hopeless lower half playing in a boring style) surely the crowds will return & more cash will become available. Simples.

With FFP couldn't you make a pretty good estimate of the maximum each club could spend from their accounts which are publically available.

Mr Waggott seems to forget that he has played a large part in dismantling some of the infrastructure of the club, and having done that failed to recognise then rectify the deficiencies created. He has been a director at the club since August 2013 and intimately involved in what was going on for some time well before that.

As such whilst Fisher might be the focus of fans anger he has been supported in his actions by Waggott and just as much to blame. I doubt he is hurting anything like the fans over the monumental mess SW/TF/JS et al have made of things. Words are cheap actions are a lot more expensive and telling

On another subject the Football League publish statistics (last set were in November 2014 I believe) that detail the budgets each club has. The clubs are not identified other than by a code. CCFC is apparently in the top 8 budgets in the division. I am a little wary of that assertion however because having a budget limit and spending it are two very different things - it is of course "the budget" that is carefully referred to

wouldn't be up to date though cd. most clubs file 9 months after the year end which is 2/3rds through the following season. It might give an indication but then what about player trading transactions which could distort it for example
