I can't work out if that article is genuine or a piss take!

Assuming it is genuine a couple of things that may have passed them by, the Amex cost over £90m and if memory serves me correctly didn't the owner put about £20m in and fund the rest interest free? Liberty Stadium was cheaper I think and probably about the right capacity but I think you'd struggle to expand it. Hopefully one day we might start doing well and need to get more than 20K in the ground.

That article does read like they are at the very start of the project rather than getting on for 2 years into it.

So have they scrapped the lovely stadium they proudly showed us with the artist's impression last year?

Running that article through a translation machine I got: "The new stadium was a bluff, but the bluff was called and now we might actually have to do what we were promising to do."

Translation machines aren't always acurate but you can usually get the gist.

I think they are either a)negotiating to see if we can use their pitch every other week, b) demanding all the food and beverage income from the Amex stadium, otherwise they will sue Brighton's asses off for reasons that can't be disclosed due to commercial sensitivities or c) they really want a gay boys night out in Brighton and the stadium trip was a pretext (I know the last scenario is mildly homophobic, but thought only two reasons would look weak)

Maybe we'll get a sighting in a Kenilworth estate agents soon, with them asking questions about land availability.

Sky Blues chairman Tim Fisher and chief executive Steve Waggott returned from the south coast bright and breezy and impressed with what they’d seen.

“Yes, we have been to Brighton and Swansea to look at their stadiums, their football model and the infrastructure,” Fisher confirmed.

Is it me or is it written like someone bumped into them at the station?

Right now the story is out there get your arse in the wasps office and negotiate the long term rent deal!!

'Shit, I think the fans may have cottoned on to us doing jack shit in 2 years Waggo...let's pretend we're actively looking for a new ground by gaining ideas from clubs who are actually doing half decent having had money to actually build a new stadium. That ought to put their minds at ease for at least another 12 months l, by which time we can then issue an artist impression of the concourse areas'.

Thought they were happy with the football model they'd implemented?..
Be funny if whilst 'trying to close the deal' on the land, Wasps nipped in and bought it for a new training complex...

Maybe this is more to do with whatever negotiations are going on with Wasps. They've got to at least seem to have an alternative to paying them rent, or liquidating or selling/giving them the club.
