Dropped to the bench already.
Tyler Walker
Walker really should have notched his first goal or two for the Blues, being put through twice in clear cut chances by strike partner Hirst. Before those, the ball fell to him from close range, only turning his shot straight at Ben Garratt. Better link play from him, but his wait for a goal continues. 5
He has not been the same player since that nasty wrist injury he got playing the banjo
it was quite a complex joke to be fair, i appreciate the fact that you're clever enough to decipher it. bravoIs that when he swung it at the cow’s arse, missed and fell?
A very slight improvement in the 2nd half - in that he touched the ball twice - before being subbed quite early. Pompey scored 3 when he was off.
They clearly want him to stay in the middle/the box and do nothing else. He didn’t get any service so therefore did nothing else.
Commentators remarked that they’d hardly mentioned him and that the Cowleys haven’t got a tune out of him yet
Ah yeah…as I typed that I started to doubt myself. One eye on the city game. They scored 2 when he was off. It was already 2-0 when he went off after 67 minutes.

For everything Hirst was, Walker was not. Failed to match the chances or looking like scoring as he did earlier in the week. Considering it took O'Brien a matter of second to score on his home debut, Walker could do with the same fortune. In jeopardy of losing his place in the team. 5

Either way he was anonymous.
Strange move from Pompey as Marquis did pretty much the same for them. It’s not like he’s missing chances or anything.
Maybe…Looks like we got rid of one inept player temporarily only to give another inept player Bidwell (hes probably just a left back) a 3.5 year contract.
On the face of it stats wise Bidwell on paper like Walker looks a decent signing.
Kane looked attrocious in the first and second half but we know he can do better and to be fair most of the team looked poor...maybe feeling the after effects of the extra time...well I hope thats what it isMaybe…
I’m going to try and defend both…
I don’t think Walker is missing chances, he just isn’t seeing anything of the ball, and I think is obeying instruction for Pompey. The instruction appears to be ‘stay in the box’. He was unlucky not to be on the pitch instead of O’Brien…his goal was a scrambled effort into an empty net following a cross. Had Walker been on he’d have scored.
Bidwell, hmmm…I’m hoping it’s a case of early days? He hasn’t seemed like this ‘Rolls Royce’ player just yet, more like a cortina on bricks.
Having said that, I thought he did really well defensively when he came on vs blackpool.
I wasn’t fully focussed on city in the first half yesterday, was he that bad? Kane looked atrocious 2nd half.
I’m hoping that’s what it is. This always looked like a tight schedule and that was before playing extra time vs a prem team.Kane looked attrocious in the first and second half but we know he can do better and to be fair most of the team looked poor...maybe feeling the after effects of the extra time...well I hope thats what it is
Let’s not write him off yet. Might turn into a Ghia but at the minute probably just a 1.6 Gl.Maybe…

Looking at Bidwell against Reading he does not seem a happy chap at all! Face like a slapped arse all game and never shown any emotion when Maatsen scored either.

Wasn't this always said about Walker when he scored... Like he was pissed off because he was aiming for Row Z!Looking at Bidwell against Reading he does not seem a happy chap at all! Face like a slapped arse all game and never shown any emotion when Maatsen scored either.

I think he was brought in because his crossing is better than Maatsens, but the rest of his game is so poor generally it’s not a tradeoff worth making. He drags us deep and offers so little generally. He might make an about turn but aged 28 it’s unlikely.
The real crime was the near 4 year deal. A 30+ winger rarely works out.
Well done it took a long time before someone cottoned on!Your username is quite apt.
Cannot believe my observation caused so many responses just hope the lad is ok in himself!God help Bidwell if he's caught smiling in training next week - there will be a collective meltdown.
