I bet all that happened is CCFC were asked to contribute to the repair bills, as you say, they knew it was not in the best of condition before the WW cup game.
What Les has done is bent the truth a little to feed his own agenda & whip up a storm in a tea cup.
As for the gaming festival, that's a stupid comment, that happened before Wasps took change of ACL when the pitch wasn't being used by either Wasps or CCFC.
We can confirm that Mr Gibb’s demand that Coventry City meet half the costs of thousands of Euros per month for pitch repairs was NOT made on the basis of Sky Blues’ matches, but solely on the basis of his claim that an already worn pitch had been “completely wrecked” by the friendly pitch invasion.
But why wouldn't they be asked? Isn't that what a neutral reporter does.
Of course it wouldn't suit Les' agenda to say Coventry City refused to comment would it.
If its not true why are Wasps / ACL refusing to comment? Why would they not just say the story is incorrect we haven't tried to get any money off CCFC for pitch repairs.
And if we're talking about agenda's how about the Telegraphs headline yesterday "Coventry City owners Sisu "have blood on their hands"", read the actual quote and it was “The blood is on the hands of the Higgs Trust, the council and Sisu who have done their best"
As opposed to the agenda of somebody who said they arent interested in football and only wasps, coming onto a ccfc forum to try and say it is all lies and made up?

Who said I wasn't interested in football? I never said that.
I'm not interested in feeding SISU any more money, but once they go I'll be back.

back?! That old chestnut, you've never supported CCFC and never will.
don't think that is the point, the point is the pitch was a fucking disgrace prior to the Wycombe game and a few hundred celebrating supporters in Adidas Hamburgs weren't responsible for the damage.

The only actual statement in the whole article was that the already poor pitch was completely wrecked by the invasion.
Is this true or false ? Did the pitch invasion do more damage ?
The assumption on here seems to be the pitch invasion made no difference.
It's just assumed that because it's Wasps its there fault.
On here, if you try and get to the details you are branded as Wasps scum.
Overall, do CCFC have an issue with this or not or is it just a non story ?

Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth said after the match that the pitch for the game had been “terrible’, adding: “You cannot pass on it.”
Wasps have not said anything so what bullshit are we following? It's no coincidence it is you and Italia to save the day though is it? The same pair who have gobbled up the wasps bullshit time and time again.
That's the point "We can confirm"That looks like a statement.
That's a statement.
Now, "completely wrecked" would surely be going from:
to:
Wasps have not said anything so what bullshit are we following?
In fact CCFC have not said anything either.
The only information is a inflammatory story from Les Reid that has been lapped up by the usual few on here.
My focus is on getting the facts so we do not further the divide with our landlords.
I see our landlords as an integral part of our medium term future.
What's your real name then duffer?
If you won't tell me then you are also hiding anonymously behind a keyboard, spouting your bullshit and having a go at others who just happen to have different opinions to yourself.
As for Les Reid's piece in the Coventry Observer. Do you really believe everything written in papers? Really???? Well let me tell you Freddie Starr doesn't eat hamsters.
Let's cut this rubbish out before it starts, because we both know that neither of us is going to start using real names on here. However, I'm not the one here taking cover behind that to imply that Reid's making stuff up because he's got an 'agenda'.
You thow a bit of dirt, provide no evidence, and then warble on about Freddie Starr. What kind of argument is that?
I post anonymously, but I don't do it to slyly denigrate those who write publicly (or at least if I ever have, then I shouldn't, because it's crap). If I think they've written something that's rubbish or factually incorrect, then I'll try to challenge it based on some kind of proof. You've made no attempt to address the facts here, perhaps because you can't, so your only defence against the article is to impugn the author.
You're welcome to your opinion on Reid and/or his articles, but if you can't be arsed to back it up with a few facts then expect to be called out on it.
I now know why you use the name duffer.
Why? Because you keep proving his point with the awful replies?
I mean the bullshit in general since the start..
Doesn't seem to be just "the usual few" on here either that think wasps are dicks for doing that.
The last bit is a bit cringeworthy.
You imply there was an alternative solution?I have always seen our landlords as an integral part of my medium term future.
Corrected it for you
I now know why you use the name duffer.
This doesn't make a lot of sense to me, do you actual read your comments before you push the 'post reply' button.

As it stands we are out on our arses in 14 months time. The club need to cut all ties with the ground and its owners/leaseholders as its been a millstone since even before it was opened. Personally, I'd be happy with a 14000 stadium at the butts if it can be pushed through somehow. Can't really see that we have any other alternative. You imply there was an alternative solution?
So what was it ?
Do you spell 'actually' as 'actual'? Or don't you read your comments before you push the 'post reply' button.
If you're going to be a pedant at least try to get your own stuff right. Otherwise you'll look a bit silly.
Then why isn't your user name something like "Can't win so will hide behind pathetic personal attacks when challenged."?
I guess that was too long for the form.
So you believe Sisu can do that ?As it stands we are out on our arses in 14 months time. pathetic personal attack, just because I said I know why you were called duffer.
You need to grow a pair.

Les hasn't given us a fully contextualised attributable quote from Andy Gibb, he had extracted two words from it . If it was to do with fans leaving the pitch "completely wrecked" why haven't we been given the full statement?
I'm sure pitch maintenance would be in the terms and conditions of the contract signed. Doubt Wasps would breach this knowing how court happy their tenants are.....
The very point i'm making is how do we know they are blaming it on the pitch invasion? Two words extracted from a remark of which we know nothing!Wasps would only be in breach of contract if they didn't maintain the pitch. There isn't anything to say they're not doing that, all they are doing is trying to vary the contract so CCFC pay more for maintenance (which they're conveniently blaming on the pitch invasion).
I view this sort of action as inevitable, Wasps will be looking very carefully at all expenditure so anything that isn't otherwise in black and white in CCFC's agreement with them they'll be looking for money for, that funding gap needs reducing by any means possible.
