Wasps meetings with the council (1 Viewer)

I assume its fully normal for a council to have no minutes or recordings for a meeting called "masterplan"
Of course it is. And perfectly normal to turn down the initial FOI request and so heavily redact the eventual response when there's nothing they don't want the public to know.

Makes you wonder what made him put the FOI in and if there's something bubbling away?

I mean a meeting called "Masterplan" with the Council Leader and Wasps. No coincidence it was at the same time we were in discussions to return ;)

Odd. Would have thought it may be linked to the training ground but that wouldn’t be of interest to CCC I wouldn’t have thought.

Does that tie in with their £5m grant? Someone check the timing. Hilarious if they’ve kept no record of the content of a meeting that saw them hand out £5m.

The grant came after all the meetings too.

It was Gilbert that intimated that CCC were the "3rd party" that Wasps insisted on an indemnity for of course. Perhaps he's got wind that there was something from these meetings around that. Not to mention the decision to bung them a £5m+ grant.

Very, very suspicious that they are clearly trying to dodge the FOI.

Maybe the master plan meeting was them practicing for the Xmas party karaoke and their rendition of the oasis classic

This all stinks of shit from every side involved, I just want to know the truth now and what the people representing my city are actually doing to help the football club that bears its name to come back and play in it

I’m surprised the council batphone hasn’t kicked into action so the forums council representative can Wade in with his totally unbiased opinion on this matter

If they had nothing to hide they would release the full notes, something is a bit fishy here.

Nothing to help... a hell of a lot to hinder...

I've said things about Gilbert before about being a bit one-sided on this whole article and how he used the situation for his own financial gain with his book.

But he at least seems to be looking at the other side of things now and the 'underhand' dealings between other parties in the situation.

Fair play.

Agree, he's looking at the wider picture that many people have been trying to shout about for a few years....
The only thing is, it goes on twitter.... and that is it....
CWR, telegraph etc won't touch it....

Is there still a CWR phone in..? There was pressure during last season by some members of this forum, re the indemnity clause, which definitely had an impact.

Is this kind of info something "we" can get behind and at least get mentioned on the phone-in...

Tbf, if you had something to hide, you'd also think to call your meeting something other than Masterplan. Sounds like they're trolling him!

And on that note... time for my regular rant about journalists lazily using FOIs rather than the old school ways. You'll find little from an FOI.

Same as when SISU were claiming talks about a stadium. An FOI revealing no formal talks didn't prove there were no informal preliminary talks.

The FOI is a clever policy, the recipient authority will just it as the sole means of revealing any info not otherwise published, and due to the myriad es exemptions actually reveal very little

Agree with this lol. Why would they include the title of the meetings and why on earth would they call it master plan anyway as you say 😂

Pretty good trolling

Trolling? I think you're giving them far too much credit. They're not that smart.

These lot are definitely the type to call a meeting "MasterPlan". Thinking they're all clever, devious and untouchable.

Information vanishing? It has been since Wasps bought the Ricoh lease and it was agreed in a secret meeting.

Sort of linked (for obvious reasons to most...)
But the Telegraph now promoting Vodafone.... (Wasps sponsors!)......
Thoughts on this?
